Hi everyone,

We are trying to conceive for about a year now. Its 2-3 months to be a year. So I am yet to see the doctor for Infertility treatment. My cycles are irregular and long(anywhere from35-45 days). I am also a regular temp charter and note ovalution signs so I know that I do ovalute. I have done some research so I want to try Evening Primose Oil capsules this cycle. I know that I can not take in Luetal phase.
I haven't consulted my physician for it.
Has anyone tried it? I want to know does anyone have experienced any side effects? Is it effective? I am more leaned towards having a boy so I go after small fertility signs like cervical mucucs. For me my cervical mucus only becomes abundunt when I am ovaluting.
Does it mislead you for ovulution?i .e does it produce a lot of cervical mucus when you are not actually ovaluting? I mean what if I get it in abundance when I am not actually ovaluting? I know that temp rise will confirm the ovulution but I want to plan bd around ovalution only.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help

I tried it for a few cycles after Clomid dried me out a little.. The first cycle I feel like I had tons of fertile quality CM before O- not terribly before ovulation though.. using all of the other signs of O, I knew when I was ovulating (as well as temping like you). It really didn't do much for my CM in the next few cycles, though. I feel like it quit working on me, and I was getting pretty bad headaches while I was taking it- this could definitely just be from hormones rather than the EPO, but I got paranoid and stopped taking it. I *may* try it again next cycle since I ended up with some pretty bad headaches this cycle without taking it.

I've taken it 2 cycles and both cycles have ended up with a pregnancy. It did increase my CM but Only at O time. The only suggestion that I would make would be to take it with a meal. It made me sick to my stomach if I took it on an empty one. Just remember not to take it past Oing. I wish you the best of luck

I started taking EPO at the beginning of this cycle. I haven't had any side effects so far (today is CD13), but I always take all my pills with some food because on empty stomach I don't feel so well no matter what kind of vitamin/drug I take So I would advise to take it with some food. I haven't O'd yet and I noticed my CM hasn't been abundant at all - just the regular sticky kind like I always have in the beginning of my cycles. GL!

I'm just curious, why can't you take primrose after you O? Where do you get it?

I got mine from GNC but I think you can get it anywhere. You can't take it after O because it can cause miscarriages and birth defects if used afterwards.

I never knew the sex of my baby the first time because I miscarried at 8 weeks along. I just found out that I was pregnant Sat so I don't know about the sex of this one yet.

I wish you all the best of luck

OMG. that's awful. I think I would be too scared to take it then.

If you take EPO after O, it can cause uterine contractions, which may interfere with implantation. Before O it's fine.

I tried it one cycle and I got wicked headaches from it. I try to drink a lot of water to increase CM.
