I have a 1 1/2 year old son and my husband and I have been TTC another since July '08 in March we were pregnant but right as the day came for my nurses consult I ended up miscarrying. The nurse informed me that sometimes our bodies just reject the baby and it's perfectly natural, she herself had had a miscarriage and went on to have two other successful pregnancies so I shouldn't be alarmed. She also stated that I could start trying as soon as I wanted so we went ahead after all of the bleeding stopped and started trying once again. I also began taking prenatals & this month I had my period but for some reason it hasn't been a normal period at all. It's basically spotting for the most part there was never a normal flow in the beginning like there usually is for the first two days.

I'm just wondering if anyone has ever experiences this irregular period like I'm having or if anyone has an ideas on why I would be having this irregular period?

I'm sorry for your loss. My last period was very much like what you described. It was very short and very very light, almost only spotting. Did your period come naturally or was it induced by meds?

Thank you. My period for the miscarriage came naturally. I had just woken up to go to the bathroom and when I wiped I was bleeding, I had no cramping or anything to signal there was anything wrong. The nurse said it would just become a period and start flowing normal and it had but now I just don't know why I'd be having this weird spotting.

cycles after m/c are totally whacked out. it takes your body time to regulate your hormones so you can have screwed up periods/cycles for a couple or several months. my 2 cycles after my loss were totally weird. i've started my third and am hoping for a bit more normalcy this time. you just gotta let your body get back to it's normal balance. drink herbal tea, non caffinated. that should help too. i am very very sorry for your loss hun!!

I'm sorry for your loss... I'm fairly sure that your period after a miscarriage can be wacky. I have never had a m/c, but I sometimes get the odd period myself. I was told by my Dr that every woman is apt to get a strange cycle every now and then.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My cycles after my m/c were different than they were before too. I think it takes your body some time to readjust. Another great board to check out on JM is the Trying to Conceive After Loss board.
