Seriously, I'm going to be 93 before I end up with a child! Please excuse my meltdown, but I can not get over the amount of hoops I have to jump through to catch a break! I've been crying since I've gotten home..
First off, my bloodwork came back normal- thyroid, prolactin, etc., and my ovarian reserve looked great according to my RE- he said I have the eggs of 2 women (lots of good it does if I can't freaking catch them!) Anyway, DH's s/a from last week was "ok". The count was fine, motility was good, but the morphology (normal shape of them) was low... the one from the end of 2008 was borderline, but still in the normal side. This time, it was lower and he didn't think it was a great big deal, but needs him to get another s/a done (gosh, he's going to just be thrilled about this).
We went over my current cycle, the pain that hasn't left me alone while AF visits, and the lap. He agreed it was time to move onto a lap. Now he doesn't actually do them, but a colleague of his does- easy enough right? He gave me a script for a laparoscopy with chomopertubation (I guess this is the check out my tube that's blocked?) and a hysteroscopy. They gave me the number of that doctor's office to call and set up an appointment. He's in the same hospital, but a different department. So I get home, and think "cool, I'll make my lap and Jon's s/a the same day so we can get both done at the same time".. Well I call the other doctor's office and they require me to go in for a consultation first! I didn't expect that... soooooooo, now I had to make an appointment to go do that (more time off work- my bosses are going to LOVE me) before I can even schedule the lap!!!! And when could I get in?? June 29th. They had sooner, but I thought maybe if DH wanted to go down there with me and take a half day, I wanted a Monday (or Friday but they do surgeries on Fridays). That's a whole other cycle away, which means for sure I will have to go through the pain of 2 MORE AF's before I can even schedule the lap. I'm so frustrated right now- it just feels like this is never going to happen... I'm so sorry for being so bummed, but I really thought we were at the point that we'd make some progress. But yet another appt. gets in the way. So now it looks like both DH and myself are the reason we aren't pregnant.

((hugs)) o man Jackie - I am so sorry. That doesn't seem right about having to have a consult first.. Maybe try calling your actual Doc and see if they can work anything out with them. You shouldn't have to go through that pain 2 more freaking times.
And with Jon's SA - put him on a vitamin regime for the low morphology - do you know the actual number? Because different labs have different standards for SA's.
((hugs))

Big Jackie, I'm so sorry you have to go through all this. IA with April definately get him started on vitamins. My DH had a low morfology number at one of his SA's. The next one came back better so deffinately don't get discouraged because they can change day to day. I definately think your doctor should get you in for emergency reasons especially because of the pain you're going through. I'd maybe give his office a call and see if they have any pull over at the other doctors office to get you in sooner. KUP. Try and stay positive. We're hear for you when ever you need to vent.

He's been taking vitamins, but if you know of specifics, that'd be fine with me too... His first s/a was 12%, and this one was 7%... By my OB's standards, the first time was normal, but by my RE's standards this time is low- he said he wants it to be OVER 12%.
Thanks for the hugs and words, girls. I am thinking of possibly calling and moving the appointment up, but I can not go in the morning due to the commute, so I'll have to see if there's a sooner consultation to have. In a way, I can see why I have to see him- rather than him going in "blindly" I can explain directly to him where it hurts, how it hurts, and when it hurts, ya know? I'm just a mess today. And I really am sad to have to tell DH that his didn't come back perfectly like the first time...
Thanks again, ladies.. I'm just a little numb. *sniffle*

I am so sorry Jackie. I hope you get to move the appt up, that is what I would do. There isn't any reason you should have to go through all that pain two more times before you see the doctor and who knows how long before you have the surgery. Good Luck with your discussion with DH tonight. Big HUGS to you! I am thinking of you!

I'm so sorry you have to jump through all those hoops Jackie! It's hard sometimes when there's another thing making you wait, we just want everyone to be as alarmed as we are about the troubles of TTC. I hope you start feeling better soon. And vent all you have to girl, we're here for ya!
On the whole s\a thing, I just read in my new book that sperm take 80 to 90 days to fully form and mature, so in 90 days a man can completly renew his sperm to it's best quality by changing his lifestyle habits! That can be very useful if you can pinpoint any major areas that can be easily improved. My DH quit smoking on New Year, so I'm hoping that should help us out a great deal! Sorry to ramble, just some extra info.

I'm so sorry. I know how much waiting for the next step sucks! Can you call any other doctors about the lap or is this one your only option? It sounds like you're having the same procedures I had, except my doctor also did a very light D&C to give me a cleaning out. That's my explanation, not hers. Hopefully your wait is well worth it and you get pregnant right after. Your other results sound great and I'm sure vitamins will help your DH.

Thanks, ladies.. I spoke with DH, and he's ok- but he's always tough on the outside- I know he feels bad inside, but he gave me a big hug and said we're in this together. He feels terrible that I'll have to deal with pain 2 more times too. He said the same thing about asking if another doctor is available, but if this is who my RE wanted (I googled him and he has EXCELLENT reviews as far as lap surgeries) then I feel that he's the best option and I should wait. I'll probably call back once a week (until they get sick of me) to see if another afternoon appointment opens up for the consultation.
And thanks for the link, April. I see that the GNC packet you had on that topic includes lots of good stuff- I have no idea if he'd be ready to start downing that many vitamins (of course, I could pick out the things I think are most important), but we'll see... I do appreciate the info and I will pass it along!!
Lisa- thanks for the kind words too... Honestly, there's not too much in our lifestyle that we can change... he doesn't smoke, and drinks VERY occassionally... his s/a from October/November of last year had lower count (still very normal though) and a higher morphology than the one last week- strange. I think we'll give some sort of vitamins a try.
Thanks for listening girls.. I really need you all right now- I have no idea why this is hitting me SO hard today, but I'm so upset.... I did ask if I could do Clomid while I was waiting for the lap, but my RE doesn't want me to.. honestly, I think he might be saving up those last 2 cycles I'm allowed on it for an IUI or something. I do honestly believe in my heart that if I could finally get this lap done, I would finally get pregnant- I just know it. I suppose time will tell. I took him last month's chart and this month's to keep his file up to date (he loves charts), and he said "well maybe you'll be pregnant this month and we won't have to worry about it!" I could only dream!

Oh Jackie, I'm sorry I'm so late on this, but I wanted to send you tons of huge HUGS... You sound like you need them. I'm so sorry that you have to wait, but it sounds like you're very positive that after the lap, you'll be well on your way to a BFP (and I totally agree with you). I wish these hugs could be in person, but here are some If you need anything, you know where to find me!

I'm so sorry you're having to go through all of this, Jackie. Sending lots and lots of hugs your way. Definitely keep calling the office to see if they have something open up earlier. Maybe they can even get you on a waiting list? I'm sending earlier appointment vibes your way! (((HUGS)))
