What has been the biggest waste of time for you in TTC? (It can be some bad advice, some sort of MA, anything...)

Having to wait so long to figure out why we are not getting pregnant. Our OB/GYN wants us to wait 18 months before testing, but 15 will just have to do because if she doesn't want to start testing, I'll find another doctor who will.

It's that unknown that is driving me crazy!!

My first two clomid cycles - I don't know why he didn't just order the transvaginal u/s to begin with. Oh well - live and learn.

I've been fortunate that I was able to talk to my doctor as soon as I realized my LPs were short and immediately went to an RE for testing.

But, although not exaclty what you were asking, I think I wasted time staying on BCP. I was so scared I'd get pregnant right away, that I stayed on a year longer than DH wanted me to. He kept saying "what if it takes a while" and "You're pregnant 9 plus months," but still, I waited. Wish I had gotten off and started trying sooner.

Waiting so long to really push DH to start testing. Had we started earlier, I wonder if we'd be pregnant already...

My super long cycles are definitly a HUGE waste of time! I'm starting to feel just like Lynda...the whole thing is starting to feel like a waste of time. I've decided that if I don't get a BFP by the time my summer vacation starts in June, I'm gonna stop trying so hard and just enjoy my summer vacation NTNP and concentrate on testing and trying to find out if there's an issue first.
