I didn't think it was much, but he did...

When he got back from his first deployment, we had just started dating. We went to a fair and he got really freaked out, too much too soon after Iraq. He made us leave and was then so embarrassed he almost was in tears. I took him to this hidden spot by a river, it was a concrete drain that was busted so you could sit on it, and no one could see you unless they were on the river. Before going there, I had him stop at a store and I bought a blanket, a big bag of M&Ms, and some pop. We just sat on the concrete drain and he relaxed.

He said it was romantic because he thought it was very kind and made him feel a lot better after what happened.

What is a value you want instilled in your children?

I want them to be critical thinkers (I think that's how you say it in english...or maybe I should say independant thinker, I dunno... sorry if I'm confusing you!). I know it's not really a value, but it's really important to my DH and I. In my opinion, it's the first step to raising an independant child who will become an indepent adult I see so many kids everyday at school that just can't think for themselves and analyse problems and come up with their own, creative, reflective answers! Many parents don't talk to their kids enough anymore, and they definitly don't let them think for themselves! Some simply bark orders that the kids must obey and others just sit them in front of the TV and the kids only get used to absorbing information, but not thinking for themselves and keeping their imagination and creativity going.

What is your biggest pet peave?

LISA - DH and I had the same conversation a couple days ago.....

Working full-time while getting my Bachelors and Masters degrees. I never felt right taking out student loans, so I just worked nights...got little sleep...and went to school during the days. I have lots of pride (and independence) and I don't ask for money.....I do what I can to make ends meet.

If you can go back in time, what is one thing in your life that you would DO or CHANGE?
