Hi ladies, I've been lurking on this website for a while now so I thought I would finally introduce myself. I'm 28 and my DH is 34 and we have been TTC since November 08 with no success.

My question is this cycle I've had several +OPKs in a row. This is the first cycle that I've used another OPK after my first positive. So I guess my question is, is it common to have several days of +OPKs in a row?

Thanks!!

Hi and welcome. If you look at my charts, you'll see I've had a few days of positives before. And some months, just one. I can't figure out if there's any pattern to it. But, my temp shows sometimes that I o right before the day of the last positive.

I have a number of positives in a row- usually 2. I will normally O on the day of the 2nd positive, but I imagine if I had 3, I would O on the 3rd day... just my wacky body!

Welcome to our group!! We are a small bunch but close and very supportive.

I'm Jackie, 27, DH is Jon 28, and we're on month 18 of ttc our first. After 4 unsuccessful Clomid cycles, I was found to have a partially blocked tube and most likely endometriosis. I am in limbo waiting right now to get my lap surgery scheduled. I look forward to getting to know you!

I normally have about 3-4 positives....I am told anything over 5 days can be a signal that there is a problem.

Good luck.

It's very possible. The LH surge can be over 48 hours so depending on when you test, you can catch it several times, or only once (or miss it altogether). One test that I bought recommended that you stop testing after you get a +. Whether you keep testin or not, keep BD'ing!

I have gotten multiples and just one a cycle so I don't know why it happens.

Welcome to our little family! I am Christina (26) and DH is Tony (29). We will celebrate 5 years this July and our son (AJ) will be 3 in August. This is month 17 of TTC #2.

I too have gotten positives on two days in a row. I guess I got lucky and caught the beginning and end of my LH surge! Good luck and make sure to BD lots!

Welcome aboard! I'm Lisa (26) and DH is Marc (30). We've been together for 10 years now but only married last year (5 years of school and a wedding are soooooo expensive! ha!). We have been trying since we got married in July '08, so almost a year now. And as the others said, welcome to our little family!

I also stop testing after I get my first positive OPK, so I'm not sure how many days my LH surge lasts for, but I have heard it is normal for it to last a few days. The pack I use says that O usually happens between 12 to 72 hours after your first +OPK. Hope that helps!

hi there and welcome!! we are glad you came out of lurkdom!!! i'm lynda...

i will tell you from experience and questioning my dr. that you can have two to three days of plus opks. this is because if you test and and pick up the beginning of the surge and then the next day or two you test again and you're picking up the end of the surge. three days is less common, but two days is very normal. ALSO if you're using the answer brand 20 dip stick opks, just know that they are overly sensitive and can give you false positives. i get positives on the answer ones (or at least what i think is positive - 2 lines being of same darkness), but if i keep testing the second line will begin to get way darker than the control, which is my TRUE LH surge. so i get false positives at first and then a couple really really positives and then some false positives after the really really positives. i hope that makes sense. i have cross checked the answer brands and found this to be true. if you're not using the answer brand and you're getting more than three days of +s, then you're body might be trying to O, but can't for some reason. I would then talk to your dr. G/L

Thanks for the info ladies!! I feel a lot better now. I thought I had Oed yesterday because my temp went up but it dropped this morning so it looks like I'm still waiting.

I am looking forward to getting know all of you as well.

Hmmmm....I had no idea about the answer OPK's....that is what I buy. Maybe that is why I get 3-4 positives....

Hi! I'm Aimee (25), DH is Adam (25). We started ttc #1 in Oct. 2008. Welcome! I love this board and everyone on it is super nice and supportive!

I usually get 2-3 positives a month and I've used a bunch of different brands, the only ones that didn't seem to work for me were the IC's and I never got a true + on them and I tested 2-3 times a day with them. I normally test only once and that seems to work pretty well. I got the Answer brand this month, but I got the 7 pack, are they as sensitive as the 20 pack strips? Does anybody know?
