Ok, so I'm back from my long awaited doc's visit! I'm in a good mood because I'm happy about how it went. I printed out my temps and brought them in with me so we started there. She said it's still a little too early to see any patterns (only been temping a month) but she suggests I keep temping just the same, especially with my cycles being so inconsistent. I had also included a break down of my cycles since the begining of this year (couldn't find my old book!). Here they are if anyone was wondering:

Dec 18th = last cycle was 51 days (bringing me back to the end of Oct. for the cycle before that)
Jan. 19th = good cycle, 32 days
Feb 23rd = good cycle, 35 days
May 10th = started spotting, LP day 9 from looking at my temps (short LP=low prog. probably)
May 16th=AF finally normal, very long cycle of 83 days!

So that means that since the end of Oct. I've only had 4 cycles (2 normal, 2 not) in about 7 months! Not exactly the best odds for TTC either!

My doc immediatly said we are going to go deeper into hormonal testing and send a referal to an OBGYN (referals and testing are different in Canada I think, so next step for us is OBGYN, then she would refer to an RE if she cannot help us). I asked if DH should get a SA done yet and she thinks there is no use until my cycles are adjusted. I agree.
She wanted me to get more blood work done on my hormone levels to help decide if we should medicate, so I went in for my bloodwork as soon as I left her office since I have the day off anyways and she said the faster the better! So the bloodwork is already done! Making good progress!

So here is the plan while we wait. If the bloodwork on my hormones and thyroid come back unusual in any way, she is going to call me to get more tests done. In the meantime I will wait patiently for my referal and keep temping, etc to have as much data as possible to give the OBGYN when her office calls. That could take a few months, so I'm going to try and not be so hard on myself in the meantime. My regular doc is also going to take Marc on as a patient so that we will both be followed by the same MD from now on to make it all a bit easier and for her to be able to follow us more closely while TTC (and also to be our family's doctor when we do concieve!). I'm really happy about that because I absolutely LOVE my doc and am very happy she will be following DH as well because he does have a few more health issues than I do and his doc is getting up there in age and will probably retire soon. She said she rarely takes on new patients but likes to keep seeing families togehter, so she accepted, but said not to tell anyone because she has to refuse patients daily (I'm telling you ladies anyways since you have no idea who she is!)! I'm so happy she agreed to take him on! So now I just keep waiting and taking good care of myself until the OBGYN's office calls and DH goes in to see my doc. for a consult and first meeting next friday.

I feel like I'm much less stressed and can relax a bit more knowing I have the begining of a plan in effect! Yay! Thanks for listening ladies! And a BIG thanks to all of you who helped with all your kind words through the last few weeks, when I needed it the most! I feel like the whole process is just finally starting to move forward so I'm motivated again. Thanks to everyone for putting up with my rambling again too!

Your cycles sound like mine - when I was unmedicated (I'm on my second round of Clomid now)...I'd have anywhere from 43-75 day cycles - for 6 months...not exactly fun or productive when TTC!

Hope that the bloodwork comes back well, and that you can move forward from there

Thanks girls! Yeah, I'm suspecting that I may need Clomid and progesterone, but at least the whole process is moving forward now! That much closer to figuring it all out and having a precious bundle of joy in our arms hopefully!

I'm glad that you had a good appt. I hope that it doesn't take you long to get in to see the OBGYN.
