Hi everyone, I am new to the boards. I have 2 children from a previous marriage and I have now been with my current husband for 3 years (married for under 1 yr). We have been TTC for 6 months now.

We have tried EVERYTHING!! I chart my cycles, which I am pretty regular and always on time and we have both been tested and nothing is wrong with us. We do everything right or at least I am sure we do. This last cycle we even used the Instead Cup, which came highly recommended with tons of success stories.

Well this last cycle I was soooo sure it had happened. I had all the symptoms and I even thought I had some implantation bleeding a week before my AF was due. I spotted some brownish blood. Just a little and then it went away. I even got a yeast infection out of the blue right afterwords, which I have had not had one in a couple of years.

Well 2 days before my AF was due I started cramping badly. I went and tested and got a light positive, or so I thought. That night I started bleeding heavily and I am now in severe pain and passing huge clots.

What gets me is I am never early, never cramp, never bleed heavy and it also feels like someone kicked me in the groin.

Should I be worried? My husband thinks I should see my gyno asap. That would mean I would miss work and I am not so sure that is a good idea.

Ideas?

I'm so sorry this is hapenning to you. I'm Lisa (26) and DH is Marc (30). We've been together for 10 years, married now for almost 1 and TTC our first since July '08. And I'm sorry to introduce myself in this way, on such a topic...but here's my

My doctor told me not to test before AF is due (although I ALWAYS do, I can't stop myself!) because many early pregnacies never implant properly (something high, like 1 in 3 or 4 I think, not sure) and end up miscarrying naturally when AF comes. The problem now is that so many woman go through something similar as you described, where they are certain they got an BFP at 10 or so DPO but then get AF anyways and lose the embryo. Women never knew if they were pregnant that early before they put out the hypersensitive EPTs, so we are seeing this more now. She said it is very normal and there can be many different factors. I would go see my doc just in case, but it sounds like you may have gone through what I described. Or you might just be having a wierd cycle with AF too, we know how mean she can be sometimes! I hope you are able to get some answers and feel much better soon!

I'm so sorry you are going through this... I have no experience (unfortunately in the 18 months we've been ttc our first, I've never seen 2 lines at all), but it sort of sounds like it could have been a chemical pregnancy. I do agree with Lisa, to try not to test until AF is due to avoid knowing these things. It wouldn't hurt to give your OB a call if you're in severe pain though.

I do want to welcome you to the board, though, and I wish you luck and I hope you start feeling better soon!

to lisa's response!!! i never ever test till AF is late!!! but i have the willpower of a stubborn mule!!! actually, truth be told, i'm just too chicken to see the bfn. i don't think it's anything to be alarmed about. as long as AF goes away in 5 days or how long your usually lasts. i'm sorry it's taking you longer to ttc. we all know how you feel. the more anxious we become, the more we hurt our odds. so try to believe that it will happen for you in God's time!!! best of luck and welcome to the board!!!

I agree. Unless you are bleeding excessively I would assume that this is just a weird period. Try not to get too down on yourself. Even when you do everything right, there is only a 20% chance of conceiving each cycle. I would also avoid testing until AF is due/late. I'm like Lynda, I'd rather wait for AF than see a BFN.

Welcome to our board!

I'm not sure what to tell you about your difficult period, but I do hope that it stops or slows soon.

Welcome to the board. I hope that your stay here isn't a long one though! Everyone here is wonderful and you'll find all the support you need!

Thanks for all the responses. I hate TTC and the anxiety that comes with it. I have been feeling yucky since then but I think it must be a virus or somthing. We will keep trying. I know it can happen. I just hate the waiting. *sigh* Nice to have people to talk to about it though! It is not really something you can just blurt out to someone.... lol.
