I went into today to do my pelvic ultrasound and we decided not to do it. After looking over my HSG records and the S/A.....and being that I have regular cycles, the doctor didn't think there was anything wrong. And I agree with her.
DH's S/A came back great with 101 million. The only problem was that he had a high viscosity (the semen was thick) and the tails of the sperm had a high level of abnormality....basically, they were not swimming the right way.
I'm so happy about this! Even though some of the swimmers were not perfect, there were many that were perfect and so we are not out of the game!!!
She also thinks we'd be perfect for an IUI and says that if we are going to pay, we might as well use the fertility meds to get the best bang for our buck.
I'm just so relieved. I was starting to think that maybe he had no sperm!!!
Anyways....I've decided that we would try 2 more cycles on our own and if we are not pregnant by August, we will go in for an IUI. And the doctor is right on board. This gives me time to save up more money, since this will be out of pocket and lose a few pounds.
Thanks for reading me blab ya'll. I'm just so relieved....all those ugly thoughts that were in my mind have been flushed down the toilet!!!

Oh that's great news!! I'm relieved for you as well!! I think your plan sounds great, but I hope you get a BFP before you can fully put it into effect.

That's great news! Have your DH drink a lot of water to help with the viscosity, I think ya'll will be perfect candidates for IUI as well. Hopefully ya'll won't need it though

That is great!
We will be moving to an RE at the end of August if we don't get pregnant between now and then.

That sounds like a great plan! And it's cool that your doc is right on board and very helpful. I'm hope your BFP is in your very near future!

No, my temps have rocked - seriously 98.6 the other day, but I am spotting and have been the last few days. I haven't updated my chart with temps, I will do that later. I am pretty sure AF will be here by Saturday!

Alicia - I'm not sure of all the meds but she did say she would give Clomid or Femara to stimulate the follicles....and then there would be 3 ultrasounds during the IUI cycle and that is as far as we got.
Oh, Christina....I'm so sorry! I was really hoping this would be it for you; i'm still hoping she goes away.

Great news, Lee Ann! I hope you get that BFP before you even have to go to IUI!
