I am 28 years old and have been married to my wonderful husband for just over a year now. We have been trying to conceive for 7 months with no success. My cycle lengths are irregular. Anywhere from 27-32 days. The 32 day cycle stunk. My DH was so excited and I have to admit I was too. But, alas BFN on day 32 backed up by AF with unbelievable cramps. Because of the irregular cycles, I have been using OPKs. We do the BD every other day for 10 days around the big O and still nothing. I am beginning to feel like it just isn't going to happen. We have our first INFERTILITY appointment with an LPN in 3 weeks. I guess I am just looking for some sound advice...Thanks

It sounds like you are heading in the right direction. After 6 months of trying without success is a good time to start getting with a Dr. I had a very similar start to our TTC. My cycles ranged from 22-36 days. I started charting and using OPK's to see exactly what was going on. I recommend reading the book called "Taking charge of your fertility" It's a great book that helped me understand what was going on with my cycles. I learned that I was not ovulating but in fact having annovulatory bleeding every 22-36 days.

I'm Amanda (28) and DH is Michael (26) we have been married for coming up on 3 years and have been TTC #1 since December 2006 off and on. We have had two miscarriages this year.

I think that this bunch of ladies will be a great support system for you during this journey. I hope that you get answers during your visit coming up. If there is anything that we can do to help just let us know.

I'm Kimberley and my DH is Jason. I agree with all of Amanda's recommendations. Charting helped me to better understand my cycles too. Good luck!

I wish you the best of luck for your appointment that is coming up. I also suffered from irregular periods, but they had a huge range- from 28 days to 40+.. I don't think your range is actually irregular, but it's good to get the doctor involved at this point. It is normal for your cycles to fluctuate a little bit in length.

I'm Jackie (27), DH is Jon (28) and we're on cycle 16/month 19 of trying for our first. I look forward to getting to know you.

hi there and welcome to the board!!! i know how frustrating it can be when you're doing everything you believe to be right and nothing happens. i have to ask, and i hope i'm not getting too personal, but i've heard how important ewcm is in conception. do you get ewcm around O time? some ladies try pre-seed lubricant around O time and it works. just a quick thought. i think it is good that you are seeking some help. KUP on your appointment. I hope you get the answers you need soon!!!

Thanks guys. I knew that joining this group would help. Lynda, I'm not sure about the EWCM. I'll start paying more attention. I also think I'll go pick up that book. Thanks again everyone. I was having a really sad day yesterday and your stories helped me to feel not so alone.
p.s. my name is Mandy 28.

Sorry it took me so long... just catching up on the board after a few busy days!

I'm Lisa (26) DH is Marc (30) and we have been TTC #1 since July of last year, as soon as we got married. We knew we wanted kids for a long time before the wedding but had always wanted to wait until after. We have been together since 99. We are currently waiting for a call from the OBGYN that we have been refered to for fertility testing. I have VERY irregular cycles too...anywhere from 32 to 56 to 80+ days once! Been of balance since about 4 months after getting off BD, it's wierd. No other troubles though that we know of...just really wanky hormones that will be easily regulated with meds I hope. I think I may just need Clomid to O and progesterone to lenghthen my LP (but last few cycles it's been OK. Basicaly, waiting for answers but trying to always stay optimistic!

The girls here are great, you will see! It's nice to have someone to help you out or pick you back up when your having one of those days!
