I went to the dr. yesterday and took my charts and showed him our awesome timing and lack of results, lol. I asked if we could start doing some tests to see if there were any problems and he asked how aggressive I wanted to be. I told him at 10 months of trying, whatever it takes to get me pregnant and he said he is ready to be super aggressive! So he gave me a prescription for a S/A for DH, which will be done next Monday. A prescription for a HSG, which will be done next cycle CD 5 (Can you girls who have had one tell me what it's like, he said since I have never had a baby I will have to take something to soften my cervix and it will be uncomfortable for me) and he gave me a prescription for Clomid which will also start next cycle CD 5-9. I am soooo happy he is ready to start moving forward. He did say he thinks I am a delayed ovulator based on when my temps peak in my LP, so he gave us a new "plan" and said no more recreational sex, lol! we are not allowed to DTD during the first half of my cycle and then starting the day before I'm supposed to O we are supposed to DTD every other day until AF shows. Which is pretty much the opposite of when we've been doing it now, so hopefully that will be all it takes and I will see the results this cycle, but if not I'm glad we are going to move forward next cycle and get some help!

Okay - for the HSG, I have obviously had a kid (and vaginally delivered) but it really wasn't that uncomfortable. No worse than a Pap exam until the dye was injected. And then I just cramped a little. The real cramps came after it was all over, and the really bad ones when I got home (around 30 mins later).

As for the clomid - you may want to check with your doctor. I was told I had to do my HSG on an unmedicated cycle, so I had to wait till I wasn't using clomid to get mine done.

Good Luck with the tests.

I'm glad you had a great appointment. Christina hit the nail on the head with the HSG- mine was pretty uncomfortable, but only because they couldn't get the first speculum in... yuck. I spotted most of that day and that was it. I cramped for a few hours afterwards, but no worse than regular AF cramps.

And I ditto the Clomid comment from Christina. I, too, was told not to take any meds in the HSG cycle.

Good luck!

I only felt a little cramping when the dye was injected and felt great afterwards....I did have a "gush" of fluid come out of me about an hour later, but it was like water, had no color to it at all.

I don't know anything about the medication to soften the cervix. I have never had a child and the only thing that I took before the procedure was a prescription for an antibiotic. The antibiotic was so that I didn't get an infection as a result of the procedure.

I had my HSG done last month on CD 9, I was never told I had to do it on a specific cycle day either.

He said he wanted to do the HSG on CD 5 since that is the first day I will done bleeding and my lining will be the thinest then. I'm not sure if the lining thickness matters or if thats just when he likes to do them.

Thanks ladies for the advice on starting the Clomid next cycle, I will def call and see if he wants me to hold off on it.

Sounds like you had a great appointment and that your doc is right there behind you all the way! YAY for great doctors! I hope this is all you need! A lot of women also have gottent pg right after an HSG I think I've heard, so maybe that will turn out to be an added bonus. Good luck!
