New to OPKs...how exciting! I would say that if your cycles are 24 to 25 days long, and you're supposed to O around 14 days before AF, so I would start using them around CD 7 or 8 so you should get a few negs and then around day 10 you will probably be getting a +opk, and the packs usually say you should O within 48 hours of your first + opk, but in most cases the sperm should ALREADY be there waiting when you O...so make sure you start BDing around CD 7 or 8 also to try to have a better shot at getting that eggie...then on and after O for a day or two if you can manage. That's what's supposed to be the best chances for conceiving, from what I have read and heard. GOOD LUCK!!!

congrats!!! opks are fun and wicked all at the same time. my only recommendation is if you're using the answer 20 dipstick opks, they can be very sensitive and provide positive results BEFORE your surge! I have had problems and i know many others who have too. G/L

Read the box - the answer test strips (20 in a box) say to start the day after your period stops and go till you get your positive. If you only have 7 I would try to hold off a little longer.

I always wait and start mine around CD 11 (especially since I use clomid and it can cause false positive OPK's). Then it works out that I take anywhere between 5-7 before I get a positive, but I have a 29-31 day cycles lately. Since you aren't on clomid and you have shorter cycles than I do - you could probably start around CD 9/10. The way I do it with the Answer (20 in box) I can make it last me 2 months because of the way my cycles line up.
