my dh got his results today from the lab but we havent heard from the dr. yet. It says his count was 48% and it should be between 60-150 so im guessing its low. his motility was 90% and his volume was a 4 so i dont know what to think

His count is 48 million? If so, he's on the low side, but still considered ok. The other numbers look GREAT, so I'm assuming that everything will be considered normal for him. 48 million is the lowest that docs consider fertile, but if they did another count, he may very well be above that. (A one-time count isn't always accurate.) Many men seem to have success in raising their count with some of the fertility teas and vitamins. Would your DH ever consider it?

Has your doc talked to you about the results yet? How have your progesterone tests been coming back?

yeah he would do whatever im sure. My progesterone came back as 5 on day 21. but they wont start me on clomid yet. we have to see a urologist now. im getting so discouraged. does anyone know of anyone who got pregnant and their husband had a low count. im actually considering asking my dr. to send another script for another analysis, i dont know if my insruance would cover a 2nd one? hmm

Actually, my DH had a low count. I don't know what it was within the past year or so, but a while ago, he had a count...he smoked heavily, drank tooooons of Diet Coke (seriously, something like 8 2-litres per day), and soaked in the hot springs at least 4 times per week--in the very hot pool. He stopped a lot of that stuff, but ended up working in construction and having a much warmer groin than he should have. We know it couldn't have been that high. Our main problem, though, was me. I'm sure that his count must have gone up significantly.

I think that your husband's count sounds pretty good, overall. It's not that he's infertile--not by a long stretch. He has a count over 20 M, which is good, it's just that on the scale of "most fertile", he's at the low end. I would try very hard not to worry too much about it. As for your progesterone on CD 21, had you ovulated? For sure, I mean? If so, then 5 is low. When is your doc thinking about starting any sort of treatment??? (Clomid seems to be working wonders for so many women on this board! I hope you get yours soon!!!!)

Good luck, Danielle, and PLEASE keep us posted. I know that this is such a difficult time...I wish I could hug you.

I just wanted to say good luck. I'm sure it will all work out in the end. Like you said - he apparently works becuase you've been pregnant by him before! I need Clomid to since my progesterone suck also. I'm anxiously waiting for it - i have another cycle or so to go though. Hang in there!
