My OB/GYN scheduled a laproscopy for me 3/20 to check for endometriosis and do a dye test for blockages. She never once asked me where I would be in my cycle at that time. I remembered while I was talking to the pre-op nurse that I would be 10 dpo at the time, and asked her if we needed to do b/w to test for pg. She checked with my dr., and said yes, why don't we do one today. I haven't even o'd yet! So we scheduled it for Monday, but I will only be 3 dpo then. Is this early enough to test for pg with a blood test??? If not, I will do a HPT on the day of the lap, but I will only be 10 dpo then, so it might not show up either. Should I call my OB and ask to schedule a blood test the Friday before? That would be 7 dpo and more likely to show it. Otherwise I will always wonder if I was pg and lost it due to the procedure.

I found out the results of some of my tests. DH's 2nd s/a showed he has a low count, so he has to be treated by a urologist, either with clomid or we'll have to do IUI's.

My pap smear showed abnormal cells, which could be HPV, so my OB is going to do a coloscopy (sp?) the day of the lap to biopsy some of my cervical cells.

At least my hormone levels were normal though, she said my progesterone is 19. Is that good?

Prog was great but I am not sure about anything else. My prog was 7.9 and they put me on clomid and mine went up to 34.

Progesterone sounds great! As for the pregnancy test, 3 DPO isn't likely to show anything. Honestly, 7 DPO might not, either. (I implanted on 7 DPO, so a test that day definitely wouldn't have shown anything.) Is there a way to get a rush blood test the day of the procedure? If the lab is in the hospital (and all of them should have one), they can usually get those results within 45 minutes. You'll probably be waiting in pre-op that long to go in. I'd call your doc and ask!!!

Sorry, too, to hear about your DH's SA results. What does the urologist plan to do? Will that be before your lap?

Good luck with everything, of course--and PLEASE keep us updated! I certainly hope that through all of this, something good comes of it--answers, or even better, a BFP SOON!

I have to schedule the die test around CD5. He said it has to be before i ovulate. I think your prgesterone level is good. Mine sucks. DH has to do his s/a soon to.

I wish you luck with everything. Hang in there!

Thanks for the support guys. Got an update--I decided to call my OB and I talked to her nurse. She said it is standard to do a blood test the day of the lap to check for pregnancy, so she said if they don't offer it to ask for it and they will do it. Whew!

imkc--My DH can't get into the urologist until after my lap. My OB said they may treat him with clomid, that it works the same way on men. We will also try our first IUI next month.

Good luck with everything. I had a lap on 2/3 of this year and it isn't too bad of a thing to go through at all. The first day is the worst but after that, things seemed to recover quickly except for that it was really hard to find a comfortable position to sleep in for several days b/c of the incision.

BTW, I don't know how sensitive blood tests for pg are. Did you find out if bloodwork done 10 DPO will show for sure if you are pg or not? That would be great if you were!
