(Background) So we have been TTC for almost 9 months and my cycles are very long and irregular ( Right now on day 50 something with no sign of even O yet). My regular doc who also does everyday OB stuff tested my thyroid and LH. She said that my thyroid is normal, but my hormone levels are low. She doesn't think I am ovulating or I might be randomly but not every cycle.

She said I need to relax and wait until we have been trying at least a year before going to a OBGYN or specialist before further testing.

I was wondering...Have any of you ever fibbed a little about the one year thing. I think it is so silly to have to wait several more months and potentially be in the same boat. I don't seem what the harm in testing is. I really want to just go to another doctor and say it has been a year so I can get some answers. I am so frustrated and I have cramping on and off all month long from one horribly long cycle to the next. I feel like someone else should tell me when and what to do with my body.

What do you think?

I would do it. I want to but I don't know what the doctor would need in order to do the tests. I don't chart or anything, do they need to see your charts?

Instant Oatmeal/ Becky.........

How long have you been TTC? Are you cycles normal?

I don't think you need charts to go to the doctor, however I have found them very useful and have heard that docs do too. It helps you to confirm O as well as see how long your cycles are and how long your luteal phase is. If I were you, I would consider charting for a couple of cycles, but again I don't think it is a requirement before you seek help from your doctor.

I don't chart because I dont understand it. LOL My cycles are far from regular. I don't think I O every cycle. My last cycle was 46 days and this cycle I am on day 44 and no af in sight. We've been ttc for 8 months.
