Well Dh and I had a long talk a couple of nights ago. I was pretty sure AF was on the way. We decided that we are going to give the clomid 2 more cycles and if we have not gotten a BFP then we are going to take the next step and go to an R.E.. Any advice from those that have gone to the RE? I'm really nervous but anxious. What do they usually do first as far as testing is concerned?
Af came yesterday. Right after I started my friend came up to me, I hadn't seen since nursing school, and we started talking. She has two children from a previous marriage and so does her now husband, so they have 4 children that they have custody of. She had her tubes tied after her last one. I knew that they were going to try the reversal. Well they did, and even though the success rate of getting pregnant after a reversal isn't high. They got pregnant the 1st cyle!!!! I left in tears. Why is it that pregnant people always show up right when AF arrives.

I'm so sorry the witch came, and that your friend had that news at just that moment. UGH!
As for the RE, even though I had already had the whole slew of bloodwork and s/a done with my OB/GYN, I had to have it all done again. I had to take a cycle off of meds to clear them out of my system, then I had to get cycle day 3 bloodwork and u/s done. DH had to have a repeat s/a done, just because the RE's office did more as far as testing- they tested for anti-sperm antibodies and did a swim up to see how many would have made it to the egg, etc. Since he recommended me for surgery because of other issues, I am still waiting to see what his next step will be with us. I'm guessing Femara and IUI, but I'm not sure.

Our TTC journey: 6 cycles Clomid, lap surgery/ D&C, IUI, 2 x IVF; 33 cycles- BFN.
IVF#1 (March 2010) Transferred two 8-cell grade A (perfect) embies- BFN and heartbroken.
IVF#2/FET#1 (Jan/Feb 2011):Transferred two (7&8 cell) grade A (PERFECT) embies- BFN again.
March 2011- February 2012: On BCP due to endometriosis.
March 2012- taking a few months off of BCP and we are TTC naturally.
We will re-evaluate another IVF w/FET try in 2013.

That stinks about having to redo all that bloodwork and SA. I had a feeling that they would do a repeat of some things though. I'm hoping that they will test for more than what my OB/GYN has done though. Thank you for the info though. How long did it take to get your first appointment with them?

aww I'm sorry about AF showing... I don't have any experience with an RE, but I just wanted to give you I know how it is to have people get pregnant at the worst time (for you) I just had 2 friends who got married recently and just found out they are pregnant after the first month of trying.

I got in fairly quickly, although my RE's hospital has a pretty big staff in that department- they are always accepting new patients. I've heard some ladies have had a month or two to wait, but I can't speak from experience.

It was a hard kick!!!! I was ready to scream. It took everything I had not to bust out in tears right in front of her. But today is another day and I'm more hopeful.
I set the appointment up for Oct 22nd with the RE. I also set up an appointment with a chiropractor this month on the 22nd. That was the earliest that he could get me in. He helped a friend of mine with infertility issues, get pregnant last year and she had a healthy pregnancy. I feel better knowing that we are taking steps to improve our chances.

So sorry Amanda. That sucks that your friend told you of her pregnancy right as AF starts. I hate when that happens.
I haven't been to an RE yet - DH and I are waiting till the 2 yr mark, though not my idea. I have heard it can be months before you can get in, but I think October is a great date. Good Luck - I hope you get your BFP and can cancel the RE appt!

I'm so sorry about AF and about having to hear your friends news. It's just not fair! I'm happy that you were able to get in fairly quickly to the RE though. Hang in there!!! We're all here for you!

When I hear stories like that I wonder why it's taking all of us so long for our BFPs?
I'm sorry the witch showed. She has a knack for ruining our day doesn't she?
