It's been 3 years since I stopped using birth control. Why did I spend all that time and energy trying to prevent pregnancy since it doesn't seem to be an issue?
I'm thankful that I did get pg once. At least it's possible. But I'm frustrated that I got pg while not doing any charting or using OPKs or anything, and now as I enter my 18th month of actively TTC (i.e. doing everything right) it's not happening!
So, this time I'm getting aggressive. DH's SA is tomorrow. I have my annual with my Dr. next week and I'm going to be more forceful in treatment. I'm not getting any younger here!

I hear you about time going by... I realized that it's been 2 years since I threw out the BCP last month. UGH! We need our BFPs already!

Our TTC journey: 6 cycles Clomid, lap surgery/ D&C, IUI, 2 x IVF; 33 cycles- BFN.
IVF#1 (March 2010) Transferred two 8-cell grade A (perfect) embies- BFN and heartbroken.
IVF#2/FET#1 (Jan/Feb 2011):Transferred two (7&8 cell) grade A (PERFECT) embies- BFN again.
March 2011- February 2012: On BCP due to endometriosis.
March 2012- taking a few months off of BCP and we are TTC naturally.
We will re-evaluate another IVF w/FET try in 2013.

I was only on B/C for 7 months but it was $30/month so that's $210 (plus $180 for the initial doctor's visit/exam to get it). I want my $210 back darn it.

no kidding!!! i'm with ya, but i think if we were preventing, then we'd get pregnant forsure........ hmmmmmmmmmmmmm there's an idea i haven't tried - LOL
Kim sorry for the 3 yr mark. Try not to focus on it. Focus on more aggressive!!!! good luck, i hope DH's swimmers are olympic caliber.

Agree !!!!!!! I pitched mine 18 cycles ago too & have thought the exact same thing. Then I know way too many people who either "forgot" to take their BC & oops, it happened or got preggo that first month after
WE WILL GET OUR BFP 'S !!!!!!!!!!! Maybe we are just the ones with extra special patience

Next month will be 4 years since I threw out the BC - I was never on BC after I had AJ. It didn't work for me to get pregnant while preventing.

My best friend, got pregnant while on B/C (don't even think she missed any pills). She started working out and losing weight and her doctor said that made it less effective.

I'm soooo sorry. The first of December will be our three year mark since throwing out the BC. I completely understand your decision and I'm glad that you are getting aggressive. You have to tell us what they decide to do. Hope the SA turns out great!!

Oh Kim, I'm sorry that you're so frustrated... it's totally justified. Had I know what we all have been through and how long I've been ttc, I would have totally skipped the "don't have sex" class in middle school.... apparently that doesn't apply to me!
Good luck with your DH's SA and I hope that you get super aggressive at your appointment! I know that it took us a while to get to talk to the Dr, but once we got started, it feel so great to be moving forward! I"m sure you'll feel the same!

Well, I know I am jumping in here a little late, but first of all I want to give you some big hugs!! We are not at the three year mark just yet (just approaching 2) but it is so frustrating!! I am glad that you guys decided to get a little more aggressive. I totally know how you feel about not getting any younger also...I think that stresses me out the most! Anyway, hang in there! I hope those SA results are awesome!
