I go for my first ever chiropractic appointment. I also got a referral for an acupuncturist in my area!!!! I have to admit that I'm not much of a believer in alternative medicines but I'm willing and eager to try new things. I told this to my chiropractor's wife the other day and she said that he will make a believer out of me!!! my friend who referred him to me said the same thing. Being a nurse makes it hard for me to believe in anything other than western medicine. I'm praying that alternative medicines can get me pregnant!!

I went today and I have to say that i'm still a skeptic!!! He did some adjustments and said that he was "reworking my nervous system so that it would spur my adrenal glands and ovaries into action". I wanted to cough and say "bull****". He gave me this herbal supplement to take for my adrenal glands and told me that I need to cut out carbohydrates for my blood sugar issues...I've NEVER had blood sugar issues but he seems to think that I do. So starting tomorrow I'm going to try and give them up. He also told me to take 1 cup of red raspberry tea a day...I think that I have read that it can cause a miscarriage. Anyone know? Anyways I go back in two weeks and if I still feel the same way I think that I will not continue this. I'm leaning more towards trying the accupuncture. I've read better reviews on it helping with infertility.
Anyways just thought I would let everyone know what happened.

That's great - I hope it works out for you. I have been hesitant to go that route yet cause it will probably be all out of pocket - and I haven't talked it over with DH yet.

My good friend swears by her chiropractor. I am considering it myself. I also want to do acupuncture but it is really expensive. If it worked though, it would be worth it!

It doesn't sound like you had a great appt. It's too bad. I swear by my chiropractor and acupuncturists. Between the 2 of them I rarely ever get migraines anymore. We're still working on the fertility thing though.

I don't know anything about the red raspberry leaf tea though - so I googled it for you.
Brewed as a tea or as an infusion, red raspberry leaf is one of the safest and commonly used tonic herbs for women wanting to get pregnant or for women who are already pregnant. Red Raspberry Leaf (Rubus idaeus) tones the uterus, improves contractions and decreases constipation.

I have seen a chiropractor for a few years now, but it's for upper back/neck pain relief, not fertility related. I'm a little skeptical about it helping with fertility too. I do know I don't have as much/as often pain now, so I go for the adjustments.

As for acupuncture though...I can't say I'm skeptical about that because I got pregnant (with this one) my first month trying it. I truly saw a difference in my charts from previous months to the month I tried it. It made my temp jump up after O, as opposed to slowly going up over a few days, and my temps were more consistantly over the coverline that month. It could just be a coincidence, it could be I would have gotten pregnant (and stuck) that cycle, or it could have just been that I found it a stress reliever, but I would recommend giving it a shot!

amanda, raspberry leaf tea can cause issues with early labor when you're in your 3rd tri. other than that, it strengthens the uterus and balances the hormones. i have been using it this whole month and like it!

Amanda.. I hope things work out.. I do not know how much the chiropractor helps or not.. but i was getting chiropractic treatment for my back when i got pregnant for Gracie.. I'm not saying that helped me.. but I have also heard accupuncture can really help.. and also help with labor with out meds.. but anywho.. what ever you choose to do i hope it helps you get pregnant!!

I haven't ever gone to one and refuse to do it, although some people I know live by going there!

THank you for the info everyone!!! I've decided to cancel my follow up appointment with him for sure. I'm going to try and get into an accupunturist though!!! I've ready a bunch of studies that say that it is very beneficial with hormone balancing!!. I'm also going to try that red raspberry tea!!

I was drinking RRL tea and seeing an acupuncturist when i got prego. I could see a huge change in my temp charts and i ovulated much earlier than i had before. i was skeptical too, but know i wouldn't havce gotten prego the month i did without the acupuncture.
