Hi Lynda. I've been on two, and I have bad motion sickness too. The first one wasn't very good, but then we did sail through a hurricane! I was taking some OTC stuff and wearing the wristbands but they didn't help so I got some strong stuff from the Purser's Desk. I don't know what it was, but it worked.

We went on a family cruise too this past January. The seas were very calm, but I still needed medication. I went to my Dr. before we left (since we were TTC and I would be in the 2WW). She prescribed Diclectin (I think) - it's what they give pg women for morning sickness. It worked like a charm!

Have fun on your cruise!

We went on a 3 or 4 day cruise for our honeymoon. I absolutely loved it, but I did get motion sickness in the middle of it. I probably slept for 8 hours during one of the days after taking dramamine to settle my nausea. But after that I was fine... I would love to go on another one, even if I were to feel a little sick in the middle of it again!

I have also been on a cruise. It was for our honeymoon as well. I tend to get motion sickness on water, but the cruise ship didn't bother me at all. I don't get motion sickness in any other setting though.

My MIL and her husband took us on a cruise for our grad school graduation gift. I get motion sickness really bad on boats. I was fine with over the counter stuff, but had the worst time in the dinning room. I think that was because of where it was on the ship and that I was sitting there. I could always feel the movement more while sitting. The cruise was fun, but we honestly had more fun in san jose puerto rico than on the cruise.

thanks ladies. i was telling my acupuncturist that if i'm lucky enough to be pregnant on the cruise (we're going in Nov) I was scared about my motion sickness and taking any anti nausia meds. She told me that ginger will get me through it with no problems. I looked up ginger and i guess it is used for patients who have vertigo. but Kim thanks, it is nice to know there is another option - again if hopefully i'm pregnant!!! thanks again

i have been on many cruises!! its the best thing.. you will have fun.. you will probably not have to worry about getting motion sick.. the ships are so big that you would almost forget your on a ship at all..and there are motion sickness meds you can take if you do feel like your getting sick.. but there are doctors on board.. don't worry.. go and have a good time.. you will love it.

Christina, you totally should. It is so cheap to go out of Galveston if you live in TX because you do not have the additional airline costs. Hubby and I went on a Western Caribbean cruise and left out of Galveston. It was awesome and I think we paid about $500 per ticket.
