Hi ladies,

I just got some vitamin B6 to take along with my prenatals... its supposed to just be good for you, of course, but its also supposed to increase luteal phase length, right?.

Has anyone had this be effective for them in this regard?

I don't really have a short LP, but I thought it couldn't hurt. The only reason I ask is so I can hopefully stop myself (in advance) from getting my hopes up too high when the time comes and AF looks "late". That's the plan anyway

I got the idea when you all said that clomid does that too. What would I do without you guys!

Thanks! Ana.

I started taking Vitamin B6, and I think it helped regulate my LP and lengthen it slightly as well. I will say, though, that I also gained about 10 pounds during this same time period at the urging of my doc, so it is hard to say which one really did the trick. B6 is also supposed to help with morning sickness, though, so I think it is worth taking!

How long is your LP now?

Mine was originally 10 days and after a few months of trying to get it to lengthen on it's own (after I got off BCP) I started 50mg for a couple cycles and think it went to 11. Then I did 100mg for a cycle or two and think I had a couple cycles with 12 days and at least one with 13 days. You don't want to start too high or take more than 200mg though because it can cause nerve damage.

Like I said, I don't really have a short LP. Its pretty normal between 13-16 days long. I'll go home tonight and make sure to look at the mg on the bottle. I meant to do that last night, but forgot.

The only reason I really thought to start taking it was that it was a pretty benign additional "something" I could do on my own. It's all psychological, I suppose

I am taking an extra 50 mg this cycle - I am hoping it will give me more time before I start spotting or take the spotting away all together. One can hope.
