I am going in armed with some research and some info I got from a Doctor I have been in contact with off and on via email for the last couple years. We will see what my doctor says. From there I am seriously considering telling them to just refer me on or to give me a copy of my medical files. The doctor I have been in contact with has looked at my charts and she thinks I have a different subgroup of PCOS that metformin doesn't always work for and/or a possibility of some endometriosis that is interfering with egg pickup or preventing the dominant follicle from rupturing. She recommends laparoscopy to check it all out. The only problem is that this doctor is located in Oklahoma and I am in Texas (SE - near Houston). If we end up going to see her, then we will have to save up for it cause it would require hotel rooms, etc and it might be 6 months before we can afford that.
I will let you know what I hear. My appt is at 2:15pm CST.

Good Luck! I hope it goes really well! Just kick him to the curb if you have to! There are tons of fertility specialists in TX (or OK)!

Well it went pretty well. I had to take AJ with me and he ended up falling asleep on me so I had to carry all 35 lbs around with me. I got saved from being weighed though - LOL!
Anyways it was mostly going over past information and then a discusion about where I wanted to go next. The DR said that he didn't think there were any other things he could do for me. So I said I am inching upon the 2 year mark and the journey has been a tough one. So he decided to send my stuff (HSG, pap, etc) on to the fertility clinic (where DH had his SA done at so they have those results there). It was faxed before I even left the office. I called the fertility clinic when I got home to find out how much the first consult would be and they quoted anywhere between $100-$275 depending on tests and insurance. Our insurance is changing so I don't know what will or won't be covered by then. And for kicks I asked how much IUI would cost and they said about $1200 and that is all of the ultrasounds, insemination (1 or 2) and the pregnancy test.
I can't believe we are at this point. It is scary and exciting all at the same time. Now that I have done this we will probably get pregnant this cycle! haha! I will take it though!

We may have to wait till next summer for IUI, but at least we might be able to do a initial consult and get a plan going. DH and I will talk about it later.

I hope that you don't need their help, but at least you were finally referred to them.

Good luck Christina - hope you get preggers this cycle and you don't even need to worry about doing an IUI - but still glad you have a new plan either way!
