I have a feeling that it's just wishful thinking but I'm also secretly wondering if this month is my month....

See, I noticed a few days ago that my breasts appeared swollen, and my veins in my chest were bulging. But I thought the same thing happened last month, with no luck.

But then, the last 3 days, I have had horrible gas, and horrible constipation for about the last week. I have IBS, and so constipation is actually pretty normal for me, but this has been awful and worse than normal. And when I say gas, I'm not passing gas, I'm belching like crazy. I feel so bloated and sick, and I keep swallowing air on purpose just to make myself belch and release some of whats trapped. I've felt awful these last few days and I really wish this air would go away.

I've also had a weird metallic taste in my mouth that keeps lingering...it was particularly bad a few days ago.

I can't help but wonder if these are early signs of pregnancy....but I don't want to say anything to my friends or family just yet, just to be let down again. So I'm sharing with you guys instead.

But really, I don't want to think about whether or not it's pregnancy yet. AF isn't expected to show before this weekend.

Actually, all I really want is some help to get rid of this bloating and gas. Any ideas ladies? All I can find online is help with passing the gas in the other direction, but this air wants to come back up, not down. Any help will be appreciated!

*hugs to all*
Tonya

I'm only going to say one thing before giving you some tips: I'm a belchy person, anyway, but about 3 days after implantation when I've been pregnant, it's gotten nearly uncontrollable. If I don't burp, I get sick. Just a little something to obsess over for the next few days.

Honestly, there's not TOO much you can do. Don't drink carbonated beverages, don't drink through a straw, don't eat foods with too much air or that may produce the OTHER gas, cut down on fructose, etc. Even something like holding anything in your teeth or smoking can make you swallow more air. I'd advise against antacids, too, because they may relieve the indigestion aspect, but they can actually cause more belching. In other words, you may just have to alter your diet and habits for a few days to see if you can get it to stop. Take small bites, chew slowly, all that good stuff. It usually works, but if you're pregnant, it's a lot more difficult to control it.

Don't know if that helped at all...but now I'm dying to know what happens over the next few days! Good luck and feel better!

(And IBS is a b!tch. I'm having some major issues with it right now, worse than it's been in...wow, years!)

Thanks for the help, and the hope!

The only thing is, most of the things you suggested, I already do. Well, I only drink water, and not through a straw, but I'm seriously considering downing about 6 or 7 cokes, because I know it will reverse my constipation. I am guilty of chewing on things, but I've made a point not to the last few days.

I'm going to buy some fiber pills tonight hopefully, to relief some of this pain, but the trapped air, I just hope it goes away soon. Or that I actually have an exciting reason for it to be happening!
