Well, the sonohysterogram is done. My RE did it himself, which made me feel good since this is the first procedure he's done himself with me. First the u/s tech did a quick regular u/s to check my lining (which is good she said) and I asked if we can peak at my ovaries since I got my +OPK yesterday (and this morning again). She took a look and said I have a big follie on my left ovary (right where I feel it!) and that it is big- she couldn't tell me exactly since it wasn't part of what we were supposed to be doing, but she said it was ready and that the eggie inside should be mature. So it's still hanging on!! Hooray because we've abstained for so long now for this procedure that I thought we would miss our chance!
The sonohysterogram itself was no fun... I was in the room for an hour- doing the u/s, the SHG and a physical. That is after having bloodwork drawn (the rest of the pre-IVF testing) an hour and a half earlier! My RE said that I have a "very shy" cervix, and I told him that's because it's really high because ovulation is coming. I also told him he had to be gentle with me so we could try to catch that eggie tonight! Once we got a speculum that worked with my cervix, they put the saline through a catheter, and I got to see him fill up my uterus- they then take out the speculum- leaving the catheter there, and it filled up my uterus while watching the screen. Everything looks "great" according to my RE! So I got a script for DH to get his pre-IVF testing done whenever he can, we have our IVF Orientation on Monday, and we'll go from there. As long as DH jumps completely on board, which I really think he will, we'll be moving forward with IVF hopefully mid January! I'm going to call today to schedule a consult with my RE, which is when I will get my protocol and meds info. That's all that's standing between us and starting in January!
My plan is to catch THIS eggie though!

Jackie I had to sneak on from work to check on you! I'm so glad that everything went well and most importantly that the eggie held on! You can definitely tell when you egg is ready on the US (weird isn't it?) My tech always said it before she even measured.
I'm so, so happy that you got the all clear and you guys are moving so rapidly through this process. You deserve nothing but smooth sailing from here on out! And I'm going to be stalking you like crazy for sure!
Now, hurry up and get your work done so you can go home and jump your Hubby!!! I'm sure after abstaining you're both ready to go!

Thanks ladies, so much! I am hoping we don't have to do IVF either, but if we do, we're at the last stage before we start! I couldn't believe it when my RE said the next step would be an appointment so he can give me my protocol!
I was bleeding a bit (not just spotting) after the procedure since we had some catheter issues once again (darn my cervix!), but I think it's stopped. Hopefully it's not too sensitive to BD- but I figure if my cervix is as high up today as my RE said, then we should be fine! My left ovary is really sore, so I am thinking that by this time tomorrow, my eggie will be outta there & hopefully will decide to hold on to me in another week! Trying to stay positive-- I didn't think I'd be in the running this early, but I'm thankful I am! I can't believe that by mid-January this all may be starting. But first thing is first.... I have to catch this eggie and slip into the August DDC with Cris!

Glad everything went well! WOOHOO for a nice eggie (and proof since you were already having an ultrasound). Hoping you catch THIS EGGIE and you don't have to spend so much of his/her college education money on making him/her.

I'll do what I can, ladies!
Yeah, Christina- I couldn't help but ask. I was like "Can we cheat and sneak a peek at my ovaries?" Usually techs give me a problem if that's not what they're supposed to do, but she was all good with it. She told me it was definitely over a 16, but didn't go into specifics. She said it could be a few days, but since I've already gotten my surge, that tomorrow will most likely be the day.
Of all the appointments and u/s's I've gone through- none of them have been to check my follies or lining, so it felt good, even though it was unplanned!

We have IVF Orientation Monday. DH has to get his bloodwork done in the next 2 weeks or so. I made my consult appointment with my RE for December 23rd (hoping I can cancel though )- that is when I'll get my protocol. Then the last appointment before we start in January will be the financial counseling and nurseline talk! Woo hoo!
Today was the third day in a row for a smilie face on the OPK! First time ever. I think my magical follie is hanging on til just the right time! I'll make sure we catch that egg! We WILL!

Jackie, this is such great news. Hopefully this is your month, but if not it's awesome you're going to get to do IVF so soon. I really hope you don't have to do that though and your perfect little folly turns into a perfect little baby. Good luck!

Yay for a great appt and a great IVF plan!!! But I have a feeling this eggie is the lucky one! I used to visualize the spermie catching the eggie and everything sticking and low and behold, it actually worked! Keep up with the positive vibes and try to convince your body to get pregnant...it can't hurt right? Wouldn't that be the best Christmas present ever?! You soooo deserve it!!! Best of luck! I hope you already caught it or catch it today!
