I will definitely pass the word on, I had a not so great experience with a company when Jason and I refinanced last year but it was nothing like you described...and they were just a small local company so its not like I could do a whole lot. Im sorry that you have to go through this stress!!! Im glad you will be saving a lot of money though, that is wonderful! It sounds like that is the only good thing about what your going through!

That sucks. When we renewed our mortgage 6 years ago we got the worst service from our bank too. When I renewed it last year I happily switched banks! Hopefully the interest rate is worth it for you.

Thanks ladies! In the end it is all worth it because we save 2% interest dropping from 6.375% for 30 years to 4.375% for 15 years. SO all in all it is saving us a ton of money. BUT the service was SO terrible that I am making it my personal mission to ensure that none of my friends and family make the mistake we have in blindly going with Citimortgage.

We tried to refinance through them last year. It was a nightmare abnd after stringing us along for 2 months they denied us. The only reason they denied us is because not enough houses had been sold in our neighborhood in the past year. Houses in our neighborhood rarely go up for sale. They have no where else to look at comps because we're on the edge of the neighboorhood. In 2 of the directions are other cities and in a third direction is a nature preserve area. They can only go the one direction for comps and they weren't willing to look back further than a year to get the number of comps they wanted. Of course they weren't telling us that until they finally denied it. We checked on it almost every week. We eventually refinanced with someone else, but we lost out on about .5% because rates had gone up. We won't work through them again either because their service and everything was horrible.

When we bought our new house in May, we used a local bank cause we got 4.25% for 15 years....and they sold it to a company in FL that got shut down by the feds for fraud and it caused some commotion because we couldn't figure out who had our mortgage. The company who has it now still has not sent us our statement for this month, so dh wrote them a letter and we cut them check for this month. When dh called the company about the statement, he couldn't understand the person on the other end of the phone (outsourcing) so it got us nowhere! Were kind of fed up with it also, but we're able to more than double our house payments a month and we'll have it paid off in about 6 years...so we'll deal with it.
