ok so when do you really think ovulation happens after a pos opk? 24 hours? 36 hours? what do you think is most usual... now i know that everyone differs so i guess i'm looking for generally speaking????
here is why I ask, I got a pos opk yesterday around 3pm - now it was positive, but this morning the lines are darker than yesterday. Last night we tried to BD, but my DH pulled a muscle in his back and was in tons of pain so we stopped. so not funny, but kinda funny! Anyway i'm wondering if tonight will be too late? no temp rise today....
thoughts?

Hi. It's Lee Ann (TexasAgs) I changed my user name.
If you got a positive today, I would say bding is well worth it tonight.
When I was doing my IUI's.....the first one, I got +'s for 2 days and probably ovulated later on the second day because the next morning (3rd day) I had a negative opk, the IUI was done mid-morning that 3rd day and that cycle was a bust.
Now the second IUI.....I got a + opk for 1 day and then that morning I used 2 different opks - digital opk and then FRER opk - the digital was negative/FRER was positive - and the ultrasound conducted about 30 minutes later showed I had already ovulated (digital opk was right / FRER wrong) ....so IUI done mid-morning and that cycle worked!
So I would definitely say it is worth a shot; you might be ovulating now!!! With the IUI's I know that the closer they are done to ovulation, the better they say the chance is. So if you ovulate soon and you dtd later hopefully, you'll catch that egg. Hope that wasn't too confusing!

I'd definitely BD- I would say you haven't ovulated until the temp goes up. Now you had a spike this morning, but still below your pre-O temps. I think I typically O either the day after my first positive OPK. Last cycle, I had 3 positives (digis), and I O'd on the day of the 3rd one, so 2 days after the positive OPK. This cycle, I may have O'd on the day of my positive OPK because that's when I felt the most O pains. It really may vary cycle to cycle, and I would totally BD tonight if you can!

Keep going as long as you are getting positives. Ovulation happens 12-48 from a positive OPK. If the line was darker than the afternoon before, it is a chance you were ovulating today. If you have prime CM DH's sperm should live in there up 5 days.
I had a friend tell me that her doctor told her to not DTD until the positive OPK and then do it every day for 4 days after. Didn't work for me, but who knows - worked for her.

I usually only get 1 + OPK and then my temp spikes the next morning. If I were you I would keep BD'ing as long as they stay +.
