hi everyone!

my name is amy (30) and dh is francesco (27) and we've been TTC #1 since july '09... so officially for six months now. i'm a regular on the TTC board but i just got back from a three week vacation so i need to go catch up and see who's gotten their BFPs and who's new, etc. etc. in the meantime i thought it would be great to get to know some of you ladies, too!

i'm hoping that some of you might have some valuable advice for me. i know the statistics say that most women will be pregnant within the first year but after using OPKs and temping and timing things right for months now and still not getting a BFP i'm starting to worry that there's something wrong. i should be seeing my OB/GYN either later this month or early next month for a follow-up (i had a preconception appointment with her before we started TTC and she gave me the green light).

btw: happy new year!

Amy. I wish I could see into the future to know when each of us will get our BFPs. Unfortunately even in healthy couples with no fertility issues it can take a year to conceive.

If you are worried that something is wrong then definitely mention it to your OB. My Dr wouldn't do anything until we had been TTC for a year even though I was 35 at the time.

Good luck!

Welcome to the group! I'm Jackie (28), DH is Jon (29) and we're on month 25 of trying for our first baby. I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis, so we are moving into our one and only IVF cycle next month! I hope your stay is short & sweet!

thanks ladies! you are all so sweet.

i'm hoping that we'll ALL get our BFPs soon! the only reason why i think something could be "wrong" (more likely with me as dh had a SA a few years ago before a surgery and everything was within the norm) is because i've always had a little premonition (or maybe i should say fear?) that it wouldn't be easy for me to conceive. strange i know. and now that we've been TTC for six months i'm starting to think maybe my premonition was right. to my knowledge i have no physical symptoms that something is wrong (and like i mentioned before, i had a pre-conception appointment with a pap, bloodwork, etc. and everything seemed fine). hmmmmmmmm...

thanks again for the warm welcome.

Actually, Amy...that isn't that weird because I have always felt the same way. Turns out that I was right. Unfortunately so, but right nonetheless.

Anyway, I am Ashley (32) and DH is Nathan (32). We have been TTC for nearly 2 years. January 13th will make 2 years. We have no known reason for not getting pregnant, so who knows. So glad you have joined us. I hope your premonition is wrong!

BTW, you will love, love, love the girls here.

Hello Amy! I recognized your name from TTC main.

I'm so sorry you haven't gotten your BFP yet I think that maybe stopping by your dr. isn't the worst idea because s/he can look over your charts and go from there and possibly order a SA for DH. I'm wishing you lots of luck in the new year!!

thanks again to everyone for the warm welcome

after 6 months of trying we haven't had any sign that things are at least trying to work down there... no chemical pregnancy, no MC, nothing (not that i would want one but at least it would be a sign that something was happening). i do get + OPKs and temp dips so in theory i should be ovulating. also, during my pre-conception appointment with my OB/GYN she did an internal ultrasound and showed me my ovaries... she said they both looked good and that i had just ovulated. i'm a little worried that my OB/GYN will just tell me to relax & keep trying until i've reached the 1 year mark before doing further tests.

is there anything specific that i should ask her about while i'm at my appointment? other than showing her my charts and explaining what has been going on i'm kind of at a loss as to what to ask/request. any advice? thanks ladies!

Hi and welcome!! Im Ashley (23) and my DH is Jason (24) weve been ttc for a year with a few months break in there to plan our wedding...Ive had 4 early losses and finally just yesterday got a diagnosis. I have always felt we would have issues trying to have a baby, just like you. I hope you either get a BFP very soon, or move forward in trying to find out if there is an underlying problem.

Good Luck! And I agree with Ash, you will love the girls here. They are AMAZING!
