Hi ladies,

My name is Jes (26) and Dh is 27. I'm ending my 5th cycle of being a TTC nut, so I figured I'd settle in here so that once AF arrives (she's banging on the door and I'm avoiding her like a debt collector) I can possibly get some support from this group, and give you all some support in return.

I was a Navy wife for a few years, so I have a really great TTC history. We TTCd January and February 2008, DH went on deployment from Feb to Aug 2008, then when we got home we decided we'd NTNP. With how much we "missed" each other, you'd think it would have happened then! 11 months later, it was still just us. (Though we did add a dog, a few fish, and a bird to the family. Apparently we need children soon.) So we decided to amp up our attempts and hardcore TTC Aug 2009-Jan 2010, charting, OPKs, Pre-Seed, EPO, standing on my head after BDing, etc. Nothing, still.

So, that's a total of about 19 months where we could have gotten pregnant. So, what's next? Since we're still young, I guess we have to wait until it's been a whole year of busting our butts trying to get pregnant to get any help? Any suggestions? DH is pretty convinced it's him. He'd heard a few times before that some of the vaccines you get in the military are connected with infertility. Hmm.

At any rate, it's nice to meet everyone here and be part of a new group!

Hi Jes and welcome! We're a small but supportive group, so I hope you stick around!

I'm Jackie (28), DH is Jon (29), and we're on our 22nd cycle of ttc our first. I was diagnosed last year with Stage 4 Endometriosis, which is more than likely the cause of our infertility, although DH has slight MFI due to morphology numbers. We're doing IVF next cycle!

As for you, I personally don't think it's too early to at least get some of the preliminary testing out of the way. If your DH is worried it could be him, see if your OB or PCP can prescribe to have an s/a done. We had that done with my OB, so it was before we were referred on to anyone else.

Good luck & I look forward to getting to know you!

Hi! I'm Aimee (26) and DH is Adam (26) we're dealing with MFI and I agree with Jackie, your OB can order a s/a and its a pretty easy , inexpensive test. Since you've been ttc 19 months I would think if you wanted to your OB would start with some tests and then maybe refer you to an RE if need be. I don't think it has to be consecutive and some OB's consider NTNP as TTC. Since you chart and use OPK's that's even more reason for your OB to do at least some testing, take that info with you to your appt when you go, so he/she can see you've been keeping track and timing is good.

Good luck, this is wonderful group and everybody is super nice and supportive!

Welcome to our little family! I hope you feel as at home here as many of us do. Jump on in! And here is to hoping that your stay here is shorter than many of us!

I am Christina (27) and married to Tony (30) for 5.5 years. We have a 3 yr old miracle named AJ, a 4 yr old Pomeranian named Sienna and a 50 gallon fish tank with almost 20 fish. We have been trying for our second miracle for 2 years (or 27 cycles).

I'm Kimberley and my DH is Jason. We're in our 22nd cycle of actively TTC after a loss.

It might be time to get some testing done. For the most part they're pretty basic and not too invasive. At least you'll be able to rule out any problems. Good luck!

Hi and Welcome! My name is Missy - I am 40 and DB is 31. We are TTC my 4th, our 1st together. I am glad you found us!

I don't have insurance so all of my medical bills are out of pocket. I started with simple testing at my obgyn office. I had an ultrasound to "look at my insides", a FSH level test at cd3, progestrone tests and a general girly check up. It all cost me about $600 with the Dr. Visits and worth every penny. It gave me the basics without having to spend a fortune so we could start thinking on if we want to go to an RE or not.

With your military insurance I would go to the obgyn and get a referral to an RE.

That was one of the funniest things I have read on JM in a while. Thanks for the laugh

hey jes, i'm late in the welcome - only because i'm researching REs all darn day long! welcome to ttc-6+ months. most of us have been trying to conceive way longer than 6 months. So hop right in and make yourself at home. my name is lynda and i have had the joy of 3 bfps in the last two years, however, I have suffered miscarriages with them all. We are now seeking medical help. I'm sick of bfns, i'm sick of waiting, i'm sick of BDing on a schedule!

I truly hope you get your bfp before you have to worry about any SAs. But the other gals are right, it's a simple test and you could have valuable info by having it done, or you can rule DH out as an issue. I hope all is ok! and welcome again
