Hi! I took my last BC pill in July, so we hit 6 months trying earlier this month. I was diagnosed with PCOS earlier this month. I took a round of Provera starting January 12th and finished last Thursday and am finishing up having a very light period from that. The doctor also put me on Metformin (my insulin levels are decent but my FSH/LH levels are 4:1, instead of the 2:1 they are suppose to be).

I'd consider it a miracle if we got a BFP at the end of this month. Of course I'd consider it a miracle if I had a normal cycle this time and ovulated. Heck, I'd consider it a miracle if I just had a normal length cycle at all

I never thought it would take this long, but I guess if I have to be in this boat it is nice to be in it with others who are experiencing the same waiting games.

Welcome to our group!

I'm Jackie (28), DH is Jon (29) and we're on our way to our first (and only) fresh IVF cycle next month! I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis, so that is the reasoning for our 25 month and counting wait to be parents...

I look forward to getting to know you!

I'm Kimberley and DH is Jason. We're in the middle of our 22nd cycle of actively TTC and our first (and hopefully only) IUI cycle. I've seen many women with PCOS get their BFP on Metformin. I hope it works for you too!

Welcome to our little family. I hope you make yourself at home here and your stay is short/you get your BFP very soon!

I am Christina (27), married to Tony (30). We have a miracle named AJ who is 3.5. We have been trying for our second for 2 years (27 cycles) and I have PCOS too! Over a year of metformin and many cycles with clomid did nothing for us so we are now trying naturally (and without metformin too right now) till we get our truck paid off and then we will be going to an RE to look into IUI later this year.

Hi and Welcome My name is Missy I am 40, my BF is 31. We are TTC our 1st together. The first time we got pregnant it was DTD once and got a BFP. Now the journey has been quite longer.

I have not been diagnosed with anything but old age so far

I have a question about your FSH levels. What does 4:1 mean? When they tested mine they said they are 6.6 and that was awesome for my age, what is the ratio part of it? Did my doctor not test me correctly?

Thanks!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome I wish I wasn't joining this section of the forum but like I said if I have to at least it is with you fine ladies

As far as the FSH/LH levels go I'm not sure. I've been meaning to do more research with that. My doctor just said that the ratio should be 2:1 and mine is 4:1. When I find out more about that I'll be sure to let you know.

Well it looks like I probably won't be ovulating this cycle either.... Now I just have to hope and pray that AF comes in the next 10-15 days so that I can move on to the next cycle. I don't really feel like having another 85 cycle....

Are you seeing an OB or RE? If you are not ovulating have they concidered any alternatives for you? I hope AF shows soon for you (or better yet, you get a BFP!)

Maybe you will just ovulate late this cycle....sometimes it takes longer with PCOS but you might still ovulate....I'm sending happy thoughts your way

Missy - in response to your question about the FSH/LH ratio, if your dr. told you "6" they were probably giving you just one of the readings. The ratio they use to diagnose PCOS is your ratio of LH to FSH. In normal women the ratio is 1:1, but with PCOS it can be 2:1 or greater (mine is 3:1). That's what prevents you from ovulating, because your body doesn't understand that it's time to do something b/c your hormones are all out of whack.
