Okay ladies,

Like all of you, I'm sure, I am constantly researching the web for new and better ways of ttc that have worked for other couples. Has anyone heard about using Instead Softcups as a fertility aid?? I heard about them from one website and decided to research further. Sure enough, I found lots of blogs of women who used them and became pregnant! They only cost around $6 and you can buy them at Wal-greens or Wal-Mart and other drug stores.

They originally came out as an alternative to a pad or tampon for women were on their period. Then a fertility community of women started to test them as a fertility aid to help keep the sperm closer to the cervix. It makes a lot of sense! I know how aggravating it is after BD'ing and you have to raise your hips on a pillow and sit still for an hour just so you don't leak all your efforts all over the floor! Anyone else here with me on that one? I decided to buy some and use them this cycle. I figure, hey, it's only $6 and it can't hurt.

Check it out!

I've used them for several cycles. No BFP yet for me.

I have heard about them, but not used them. How do they feel? Are they uncomfortable?

You can't even tell that it's in there if you have it inserted correctly. I find it a little hard to remove sometimes.

I used a moon cup for a year and a half (and lost it, somehow..... It's got to be here somewhere!) and I'd imagine these are easier than that was!

OK...so far I have used them 3xs now in the past few days as I should be ovulating in the next day. The first time it was great! I inserted it while I was in a sitting position quickly after DH and I Bd'd, no leakage and I even walked around the rest of the night. The second time I used it, it seems like I actually did the opposite of what the cup is suppose to do. When I pulled it out (and it leaked) all the semen was on the bottom? So that was pointless! The third time I used it was last night. I had DH deposit his semen for me in the cup (I know, how romantic, huh?!) and then inserted it inside since this was the least messy way to do it and to ensure that the I didnt do what I did the second time around. It felt really comfortable...didn't even know it was in. Woke up this morning to take it out and I had a HELL of a time...started to panic and get lightheaded. Just before I thought I was going to have to have DH take me to the hospital I calmed down and squatted on the bathroom floor while pushing and managed to push it further down so that I could take it out. Whew! I don't thinkI will use it again because that really scared me.

The concept is great...and I see how in theory it could really help and work for someone. Just be cautious about trying to get it out. I don't see how it could go anywhere else, know what I mean? But just the thought of what happened to me this morning kinda freaked me out.

Hey, let's hope that my few efforts with it maybe did some good=) Baby dust!!!
