Had my son in dec 07 and been trying to have another since he turned one. Had one shot of depo after his birth and breast fed for a year and a half. Did not start getting periods until after he was one. My hubby dont understand how badly I want another since he is convinced that since we have our son it doesn't matter. SO wrong! It took us a year and half ttc for jacob and he keeps asking for a sister or brother! I just started tracking my cycles... periods began on feb 28th, march 30th, and then today april 13th. I am so disgusted with the huge difference in that I dont think I can even try to get preggers if I can't be normal! My sister suggested this site for a new information source to help me as I am so depressed about my failure to conceive... any help is appreciated. Thanks ladies!

Welcome!
I know how you feel - we actually just got our BFP for our second last week - it took us over 2 years. It will happen though. Have you seen your doctor?

hi there and welcome!!! my name is lynda. i can hear the disappointment in your post!! i'm so sorry. remember men don't understand!!! they just don't!!! they can say they do, but most don't. I'm with christina, have you talked to your dr. did they tell you why it took longer to have your first?
I've had three m/c's and have moved on to medical assistance! welcome again!!! you will find great information here!!!!

err.. i'm one of those very personal types of people. honestly this is the first time i have talked to someone other than my sister about this. when we tried for our first baby my husband and i were married yet, so we didnt let it be known that we were 'trying', not even to the dr. i was 22 and didnt find fault in it but others would have so i saved the trouble. i have not been to a dr yet regarding my second attempt as i really hate to involve medicine with something that is supposed to be natural... i was raised not believing in birth control and have this feeling that i really messed up my system when i took the shot of depo. i want another baby to be god choice and all but i am so desperate as i feel such longing for another like it is so meant to be right now but i havent done something right... my sis is suggesting going on pill for a few months to regulate my cycle but i cant stand the thought of more birth control... heard about taking robitussin and plan to try it this month but just started my period today almost two weeks early! this is so ridiculous!
thank you though for welcoming me as I am still shaking about this whole 'opening up' on a message board thing!

No problem. We have all been there. I haven't had any hormonal BC since before I got pregnant with my son - almost 5 years ago and it took us over 2 years to conceive. You don't have to use medical assistance if you don't want to. Running some tests might answer some questions, do you have PCOS, endometriosis, etc. Maybe you don't have sufficient progesterone and that is why you aren't getting pregnant.
The Robitussin will help with your mucus. Remember that if you aren't in your fertile time it will still make you have fertile feeling mucus. I also suggest looking into OPK's and temping if you haven't already.
Good Luck! I hope your stay here is short and sweet!

Welcome!
I have the same problem with my husband, whenever I try to talk about how I feel he always says that we have Ana and she is perfect.
We have been ttc for almost 7 months now, Ana took us 8. I hope you post more and then graduate this board quickly!

I'm sorry you're struggling with ttc, but you've found an amazing group to support you. I hope that you don't have to stick around here too long! Hopefully you'll regualte your cycle and get your BFP soon!
I'm Cris and my DH and I have been ttc our 1st for over 2.5 years with a loss in December.
