I have come across a product called OvaCue Fertility Monitor. It has a oral sensor that you place in your mouth every morning that tracks your electrolyte levels to determine fertility 7 days before ovulation. You can also buy a vaginal sensor that tracks electrolytes in your mucous to confirm ovulation has occurred. The down side to this is that the monitor itself is $270 to $300 and the vaginal sensor would be an additional $100 to $200. That seems like a lot of money right now, but it makes me wonder if it would be worth it in the end. Wouldn't want to spend that kind of money on a placebo.

Has anyone tried something like this???

i haven't heard of it, but the price would be a deterant for me personally. opks and a cheap thermometer will do the exact same thing (for me that is). I know lots of ladies have troubles with opks. I used the clearblue easy fertility monitor i got off ebay and it worked like a charm for alot less money if bought on the secondary market. good luck and let us know if you decide to get it.

I have heard only good things about the Ovacue, and I would love have one of my own...but for my own situation its really not needed.

Have you checked out early-pregnancy-tests.com? Its only $249 on their site, and I really dont think you need the vaginal sensor (never heard of it actually) i've heard that the saliva monitor works perfectly!

I've been eyeing it for awhile but the price is not nice at all.
It would be worth it though to TTC #2 and maybe pass it on / sell it to one of my sisters or friends.
That could cut the price in half.
I think I'll stick with OPKs for now though.

I haven't heard of it myself... I would be skeptical of it really picking up fertile time that far out. If OPKs work for you, it's cheaper to just keep using those!

Thank you for the comments. I can't believe how many gadgets there are out there. I have been reading another one called LadyComp/BabyComp (Baby-Comp Assists With Natural Family Planning & Infertility Problems). The LadyComp/BabyComp is more or less just a thermometer. I think that taking a BBT and charting is just as effective as this one.

I used some OPKs in February that seemed to work okay (got a positive on day 9). This cycle, however, I haven't gotten a positive yet on an OPK (currently day 14). I went in for my CD14 bloodwork today and will hopefully find out some more information in the next few weeks.
