It'll be ok--- good luck to you!! I would take a couple Ibuprofen shortly before your HSG. It's really not too bad, and it'll be over so quickly!!

Some people have worse pain, but it all depends on your situation. If your tubes are blocked, for instance, it might hurt a bit more. I personally didn't have too much trouble-- it felt like first day AF cramps. I took 2 Aleve before I went in, and that helps to buffer it a bit. It's more uncomfortable than anything.

I agree take some OTC meds before you go. Mine burnt a little when they injected the dye but nothing i couldnt handle. It just felt very warm for a few seconds with some cramping. They doc told me it can make you more fertile for the following three months after it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i got prego on my third month after it (lost it tho) I also recomend that you bring a pad to wear after it. I leaked dye the rest of the day after mine. YOU'll do great and hopefully it will make you more fertile

Best of luck. Mine wasn't too bad. The pain happened about 30 mins or so after the procedure and they got pretty bad for me. I had no blockages though. Tylenol and rest helped me.
