Do you have instances/events that hit you in the heart? The other day my sister came up to visit for my birthday, and to see our new house (new to us, in reality 42 years old).

She brought my niece (8), and my nephew (5) with her. I was in the kitchen, and my husband opened the front door, and my nephew came flying through the house at top speed, running into the kitchen to give me a huge birthday hug. As I squatted down to hug him, tears sprang to my eyes, and I was overwhelmed with emotion. It was such an interesting event.

Even now, a week and a half later, I'm still emotional about it. I told DH that I nearly cried when Huey hugged me, and he agree that it was very emotional, and we didn't really know why. So I'm just throwing out there the door for others to share their emotional instances.

Oh my goodness, that sounds just wonderful <3. And his name is Huey! So cute!

My hugest moment like that was back when I was 16 (so ten years ago now) and my little brother had just been born. His room was next to mine in the house we lived in growing up, so I was always the first to hear him crying in the night, and would get to him first. On one of these nights, my mom came in, exhausted and frazzled, and I sent her back to bed. As I sat in the rocking chair that all of us were rocked in as infants, singing to him and rocking him, I felt that outpouring of emotion and tears were streaming down my face. I'd never loved anything so much, and it was one of the most powerful experiences of my life. He and I are still so close despite our age and his Asperger's syndrome. He is my world, that little dude.

Oh wow, those are great stories ladies! I have been having so many of those kinds of moments lately. i think it's because I've been looking at life a little differently after 3 years ttc and a mc. Spending time with my nephews each Sunday chokes me up, watching DH's cousin's baby snuggle up on my chest watching the little girl I babysit understand something I taught her... Yeah any and all of those, and more get me teary eyed and hit me in the heart.
