Well, after being at this for 6 months now, I thought it might be fun to document our journey here.
Our 1st child was soooooo easy to conceive. All we really did was decide to go off our Birth Control - and voila! Baby #1 was conceive 2 weeks later. This one has been anything but easy.
Last year we decided that I would go off my Birth Control in November 2005. We did not want to start "trying" though until January (We were heading to Cuba for a Christmas wedding, and we didn't want to go pregnant).
So January came, and the baby making officially started - and then January came and went - without 2 lines.
Believe it or not I was surprised that I wasn't pregnant - so I thought that perhaps I should buy into this whole charting thing.
February was our first charting month. I took my temp every morning religiously, I checked my CM everyday, I checked my CP everyday, and I documented all of my possible symptoms.
Again, we didn't see the two lines in February.
Feeling really discouraged and stressed out from the pressure - DH and I decided NO MORE TEMPING!! March, April and May - we did nothing except enjoy our BD sessions - as random as they were!
So now here I am in Month 6 (May). Feeling rather at peace with our journey, I started Temping again this month. After reviewing my past 6 cycles, I discovered that my Cycle lengths are quite a bit shorter than I had thought (25 days instead of 28).
Since I know that my luteal phase is approximately 15 days, I should be ovulating anytime around or after CD9.
I have discussed this with basically anyone who will listen, and the ladies at work swear by the every-other-day rule for BDing. Heck - Why not? It's worth a try. So starting on CD 9 that's just what we did. Today is CD 11 - looks like I'm getting lucky today!
I think we may have been depleating our chances because we BDed every day whenever we thought I could be ovulating. Sometimes that meant BDing for 9 or 10 days straight. It was fun even if it wasn't productive.
I'm not sure if this is correlated or not, but I have been losing a fair amount of weight lately (intentionally). I am beginning to wonder if the weight loss has an effect on my cycles.
I started off at 179 pounds about a month ago, and I am now 160. I have been working hard, and I'm feeling awesome.
So I think that is enough for my first diary entry.......................I've caught up to where we sit today.
Our DD is so anxious to have a baby in the house - it's quite priceless. She tells everyone that we are hoping to have a baby soon - but that it will take 3 seasons to cook!
Here are the things I am doing to help this process along:
Folic Acid - 1 every day
Evening Primrose Oil - 8 every day until O day (just started this during this cycle)
Raspberry Green Tea - 2 a day until 0 day (just started this during this cycle)
Vitamen B complex - 1 every day ( I have always taken this to help fight off illnesses - I'm a teacher, need I say more???!!)
Lutein - 1 every day ( I have always taken this to help preserve my eye sight - I have a rare disease......it's not related to TTC)
Good bye for now!
