Did anyone watch the season premiere of How I Met Your Mother last night? I very very rarely watch a sitcom, and strongly identify with it. But this season Lilly and Marshall are trying to have a baby. And they get in a big fight because he tells his Dad that they are about to start trying. He doesn't understand, etc, etc. Fast forward to them on sitting on the steps outside their apartment. And she says to him, "Did it ever occur to you that I might not be able to get pregnant? That I could let you down?" And some other thngs to that effect.

I was sitting on my couch in tears, because I could totally identify with her thoughts and fears. Its what keeps me from sharing with others that we are trying. I try not to be a prideful person, but I can't help but feel disappointed, that having a baby is tough. Definitely tougher than I thought it would be. <Sigh>

I watched it! I love that show, and I love them. I have a feeling it won't be easy for them, and if they do it'll be refreshing? I guess? To show a really human and serious side to trying to get pregnant.

I didn't see the episode, but I saw that clip somewhere. It hit home for me as well and like you said Sassy, it's part of the reason we don't tell anyone about ttc.

I'd like to see them follow the "infertility" storyline, but since it's a comedy show, I wonder how they'd work humor into the situation. I mean, there are some funny things that go with infertility, but they are FAAARRRR outweighed by the emotional and dramatic things. To be honest, I don't know how I'd feel about them making infertility funny if that makes sense...idk
