Good evening everyone!

I have a question regarding my chart. If you can, please take a peak.

You will see that this morning my temp rose. My dilema is that I haven't seen a change in my CM at all. I know that fertility friend won't recognize my O date until my temps are up for at least two days, but is it possible that I O'ed without the EWCM??

My second question is are we thought to Ovulate the day prior to the spike in temp? I've read some articles that claim that it can take a couple of days for the hormone released during Ovulation to reach the body and thus cause the temp to rise. I think we planned our BD sessions well either way - but I'm just curious.

Thank you in advance for your wisdom,

Alex

Hi Alex,

I usually get EWCM maybe 3-4 days before O. Is it possible you missed it because you weren't checking that early? I haven't heard the thing you said about it taking a few days for your temp to spike after O. I thought it went up the very next day like clockwork. Hope I've helped!

Chris

I will be interested to see your temperature does tomorrow - it looks like an ovulation spike with a fall-back rise pattern. I have read that it is possible that your body doesn't react to progesterone right away and that it can take a few days for the thermal shift to show. In Taking Charge of Your Fertility - there is an example in the Appendix that shows two charts: one with an LP defect (less than 10 days long) and one that looks like it has one, but is probably normal. The difference in the charts was the for the one with the short LP, the shift occured right after the patch of fertile CM and for the probably normal chart, the shift happened 4 days after the last patch of fertile CM. The author said it was likely the charter had ovulated right after the Peak day (the last day of fertile CM), but her body reacts more slowly to the progesterone, so the thermal shift didn't show for a few days.

Interesting.......

I too am anxious to see tomorrow's temp. Still no EWCM, my guess is that I ovulated around CD13, so it is probably too late to experience that. I might have had it an not noticed.

Do you think we've timed our BD sessions alright? That has been our main struggle for the past 6 months. We always seem to miss my O day by a few days.

Thanks again for you guidance!

Alex

I agree with Donna about the spike and fallback rise. If it is, indeed, ovulation, it looks like you did a pretty good job of covering your bases!!! As for EWCM, you may not always have it. In fact, I rarely *RARELY* have EWCM, or even much watery CM. Many women have scant fluid, or periods of scant fluid. Just another possibility...

I hope you caught the egg this month!!!

(And your avatar freaks me right out. )
