Aww, I'm so sorry you didn't get the best news yesterday. I can say, that I can relate almost entirely. I had surgery August 2009, and it was found that my endometriosis is so extensive that it can't be removed from most areas because it would adversely affect TTC with scar tissue, etc. I was also devastated, as I laid in the recovery room, and heard my DH say that my surgeon say that if we wanted to get pregnant, we'd need to move on to IVF and fast. During the surgery, they were able to free up my ovaries a bit though by removing some endo that was tying them tightly to some other part of my body in there. (I so don't remember anymore). So you definitely have some hope if they find that your anatomy is a little out of place, they very well may be able to put it back to where they are and that be the answer to your prayers!
Now, I did opt to do one IUI because I didn't want to skip that step completely and jump to IVF. Unfortunately, that didn't work out, and we did an IVF cycle in March 2010. Everything went perfectly, and our embryos were perfect, but after transferring 2, but neither of them stuck with me. My RE still only gives us a 30% shot at getting pregnant with IVF, and like an 8% shot of getting pregnant naturally? So our situations may be a bit different, but I think you are making the right decision in getting that surgery. I really think if they can fix up your tube positioning, if that's the problem, you can have a great chance of getting pregnant all naturally!
