A friend of mine at work today who knows how hard we have been TTC told me that a friend of hers awhile back was TTC with no luck for a long time and feeling overwhelmed.
Someone told her to take prenatal vitamins and she was pregnant within a couple of months.

Does anyone know if taking them would help? If so are they safe to take with Ovulex?

Thanks ladies.
Bobbi

You should be taking prenatals if you are ttc. That way you will have them in your system since most people don't find out they are pg until several weeks later. I haven't heard of them helping in conceiving though.

If that were true I would have had my BFP by now!!!!! I have been taking them since I started TTCing - which is over a year and I am still trying.

But it is a good idea to take them while trying so that you get all the vitamins you need.

You should definately be taking them anyway, but DH and I TTC'ed for (all together) almost 3 years before we got pregnant, and I was on them the whole time. They don't increase the likelihood of getting pregnant, just the likelihood of a healthy baby when you do get pregnant!

I wish that taking them did help because it would be a lot easier. for what the other ladies said. I have heard all kinds of things that will help get you preggo fast, especially that one!

my dr said i shouldn't need to take any multi-vitamin while ttc or while pregnant, except of course for the important one - folic acid! you really need to take that for a few months before you start ttc if possible, to reduce the risk of neural tube defects such as spina bifida. as the neural tube closes so early in pregnancy, ie before you know you're pregnant so you need to already be taking it.

as for anything else, you could see a naturopath. friends of mine tried for two years and went to a naturopath who prescribed them both zinc, and can't remember what else, but it worked! i wouldn't do it without seeing a professional though..

I started taking mine when I started TTC and it still took me 14 months! But my Dr did tell me it was best to start taking them before I got my BFP.

I kind of figured it was too good to be true. Oh well. I have bought a bottle and am taking them anyway. The ony reason I wasn't is because is says with the Ovulex to not take anything else.

Fingers crossed for all of us to get that BFP!

My doctor gave me a prescription for prenatals when I told her I was TTC. They haven't seemed to help me get my BFP quicker though.
