It's been a long time since I've written here, I've been on hold for a few months, but I had my first IUI on Friday. DH's sperm count was high, and I have pretty high hopes. I hope so much that I get the BFP this month and I can finally move on to the pg boards. I wish the same for everyone else here too.

I will probably give in and test next Wednesday.

I hope your IUI went well for you. I just had my very first IUI on Monday. I was just wondering if you were on any medications (clomid) when they did the IUI or did they do it unmedicated. Also do you ovulate on a regular basis? Sorry for all of the questions I am just trying to find someone like me. Good luck to you and I hope we can soon join the FEB DDC!!!!

Wow, good luck! That's wonderful. Can I ask...how did your doctor decide on IUI? We have been TTC since last year without success.

Good luck I'll be hoping you get the BFP this month too.

Did you have the lap a few months ago? I never saw if you posted the results.

How did you get the dr to do IUI so quickly? That's awesome! Good luck! Hopefully you'll feel some preggo symptoms soon!!

To answer your question GWEN....

I guess my doctor has opted for the IUI because my HSG was normal and I ovulate and have my period on a regular basis. My husband's SA also came back normal. He said he was going to try the IUI three times and if it didn't work he is going to put me on Clomid and Progesterone and try the IUI three more times. I guess at this point he is doing it to see if maybe it is a CM issue with me and my DH's sperm. Instead of doing the post coital test he is doing this. It is pointing towards "unexplained infertility" more and more everyday I think. It is so frustrating!!! You almost want to find a problem so you can fix it! Do ya'll know what I mean????

Yeah, I do know what you mean Christy. In answer to your questions--I did my first IUI on clomid, even though I o regularly. My OB seems to think it can't harm my chances just to go ahead and do the IUI with the clomid. Our infertility is kind of unexplained too, but I did have some endometriosis when they did the laproscopy, and one of my tubes was blocked. If you have lots of pain during your AF you might want to talk to your dr. about that option. The only way to diagnose endo. for sure is with a lap.

I recovered from the lap. just fine and had to go on lupron for a month, followed by a month of BCP's to get my estrogen levels back up. Then we did the IUI the first month I was able to ttc again, just to boost our chances.

My OB really left my treatment up to me. She suggested an IUI if I wanted to try it, and I was very happy that she let us move as fast as we wanted to. Don't know if it's the best way to treat me or not, but it makes me feel better anyway.

That is so awesome your dr is so proactive plus lets you decide what to do. Good luck, I certainly hope the IUI works, it will give me so much hope once you get pg.

After I was d/x with endo in Feb after a lap, all my dr. said I could do was go on Lupron for 3-6 months and basically that was it. No mention of IUI, etc. I don't even know if he knows how to do those. Where we live is a complete lack of fertility specialists so I feel like there is not much I can do.

I decided not to take the Lupron & just take our chances TTC but I don't really have high hopes of getting pg each month anymore now that I know there is endo.

anyways---good luck and keep us updated on things. I hope you'll see a BFP this week!!! Any wierd symptoms yet?

Thanks! No symptoms yet! I guess I will test in a week or maybe on Saturday!!!!!! I say Saturday because I think it would be so neat to be able to tell DH on Father's Day that he is going to be a first time daddy!!!

Thank you! We don't have any good fertility treatment around here either. But I was lucky enough to find an OB who does a lot of fertility stuff. She wanted me to be on Lupron for at least 2 months, but I asked her if I could stop after the first month because I hated the way it made me feel and I hated waiting. Look around--maybe you can find an OB who does IUI's in your community.

I don't have any unusual symptoms yet, except that beginning on 1 dpo I began to get heartburn, which I never get. But I think it was too early to o to be a pg symptom. And my CM seems to be a little bit creamier than usual this time of month.

Christy--I know what you mean about Father's Day. DH always wants to be there when I test, so it won't be a surprise to him, but I thought it would make a great gift for my dad to wrap up something that says "#1 Grandpa" or something.
