Hubby had an SA. I called to get the results and the nurse said that the RE wrote on the paper that his numbers were ok for either IUI or timed intercourse. Of course, I wanted to get the actual lab results and see the numbers for myself. Now I'm worried...here are the results:

Total sperm number: 378 million

Total motile sperm: 189 million

Count: 105 million

So those are above normal.

However...

Motility is 50% (normal is 50% or more)

Morphology (Kruger Strict Criteria) is only 7% (normal is 14% or more and subfertile is 5-14%)

Now I'm freaking out because I thought everything was fine, but now after looking at his numbers, 7% morphology seems really low Any thoughts??

boy i can't remember when my hubby did that. can you google it and see what it in normal range? or call dr and ask him/her? i know my hubby had motality issues and that's why we had to go to IVF. worked first try. but i also know couples that had slightly lower than normal stats and they still got pregnant. i hope someone else can help you, but try not to stress, there is lots of things that can improve sperm. as long as his count is high, that is good! good luck!

rntobe - i thought the same thing as you when my husband had his first SA - the whole category and description thing is really confusing; if the nurse said you are fine, it is probably ok - my ob called and told me that it it would prob be really hard to get pg on our own due to my husband's motility percentage; well, he was a 100% wrong - we wound up going to a urologist, as the ob "thought" there was a problem, and, guess what? NOTHING IS WRONG - i would schedule an appt w either a urologist or if you are seeing a fertility doc, have him/her sit down and explain the results to you; otherwise, this stuff is overly confusing; i, like you, had them initially fax me the results and i tried to make sense out of it; i think urologist is your best bet! let me know how you make out and i wish you the best of luck
