Okay to make a long story short I had a 28 cycle and was O'ing on CD 15....for some reason I thought I had a short luteal phase. Well 2 months ago I took 100mg B6 for only 5 days, and it delayed O by 6 days, and now my cycles are 34 days and I dont O till CD 19!!! I dont understand why my cycles are still every 34 days since I stopped the B6, and only took it for a 5 days! any advice???..

oh hun the same thing happened to me. you do not want to play with B6, it can be very dangerous if you take too much of it. i found this out after having the exact same thing happen to me. but i was ok. dr. put me on progesterone supplements after Oing for Luteal Phase Defect. Worked like a charm. Stop taking the B6 now! If your dr won't give you progesterone supps, you can go to GNC: Vitamins, Supplements, Minerals, Herbs, Sports Nutrition, Diet & Energy and more. and purchase NATURAL PROG. Cream from them. it must be the natural kind though. don't buy the gnc brand its not totally natural - there is another brand they sell. if you can't find it. let me know. it's usually pretty expensive so if it's cheap, it's not the natural kind. you must temp in order to use this product. when you get confirmation of Oing, through temping (usually 3 temps rises) then you start using the cream. but don't use it until you confirm O cause it will delay Oing if you do. sounds complicated, but it's really not. PM me if you need more help. sorry you had to go through this too! I was just as upset as you are, when it happened to me, but if you stop taking the B6 now, you should be fine! Dr. told me that taking B vitamin supplements without medical direction can be very dangerous. I know this is not what you want to hear and it is truly sent with love!! from one who was there, don't try to self diagnose your fertility issues. If you have a LP defect, tell your dr and they will help you! self diagnosing can cause more harm than good! progesterone supps are ok because if you take them and you don't really need them, they won't hurt you. good luck and big big hugs

You know, this makes me wonder. My cycles became annovulatory after my last loss...which is about the time I was told to start taking B6, B12, and 4mg Folic Acid for my MTHFR. I've been a bad patient and haven't been taking it like I should and still don't O...I wonder if the B6 could be the problem (and if it has had a long-lasting effect).

i have never taken b6 but along the same lines as taking vitamins without doc's advice, i am not a proponent; i was taking primrose evening oil pills, as i read it was great for cervical mucus, and my doc said to stop taking it, as it has a small amount of progesterone in it and there is not enough known about it
