Hello everyone! Looking for some insight. So my story is, I stopped the pill last august, first and second cycle were 45 days apart, then I had a 31, 35, 38 day cycles. I'm currently on a 56 day cycle which has resulted in having to start provera, on my 2nd day of that. The cycles that were in the 30 day range I did have positive ovulation test. So I guess I'm just curious to see if anyone else has had the a similar experience, did the provera correct your irregular cycles? Our next step would be trying clomid.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I guess I'm in the same boat as you. I stopped taking the pill last august as well and my story is pretty similar. First cycle 35 days next 42, 32, 52, and 49. I'm pretty confused by all this too so I don't think I will be of much help but just know you aren't alone. Before I started taking bc I remember my cycles being "irregular" but not quite like that. I don't think this means we can't successfully conceive I just think we have fewer chances every year. I recently went to my doctor and he suggested to give it to the end of the summer and if nothing happens then we would talk about clomid (he also had me take a blood test to check for a couple different thing, I'm still waiting for results).

I think one of the hardest things about this is not knowing if I'm pregnant or if it is just and unusually long cycle. It drives me crazy waiting for AF every time. Feel free to update me if you learn anything new. Best of luck TTCing.

Thanks for the response! Its such a relief that I'm not the only one having these issues. My cycles before going on the pill were like clockwork, every 28 days. I went on the pill 10 yrs ago to be responsible and not get pregnant and now that I'm married and ready to get pregnant, I'm having all these issues with my cycles. I'm trying hard to stay positive but its so frustrating! I'm really hoping the Provera may jump start my cycles to normal! But who knows at this point!

Its so frustrating! I had my blood drawn in november to check my hormones and everything came back pretty much normal, I'm waiting for my period to come on the provera so I can have my blood drawn again. Its hard too, I work in a ob/gyn office and I see all these young girls coming in pregnant, it makes me so mad. I try to not let it get to me and keep telling myself our time will come. I even bought a fertility dvd to try to help with my stress!

Along with irregular periods I'm also experiencing spotting between periods. I can't ever recall it ever happening until my last two cycles and is starting again. The spotting always seems to happen at random times during my cycle there really doesn't appear to be a pattern. Anyone know anything about this?

Hi, I went off the pill in a few months ago and talking to my Dr. she did suggest I could try a supplement called fertility blend. It's been a 'proven' supplement. You can see info on on amazon by looking up Fertility Blend, but you can buy it on amazon or gnc. Basically it's not a miracle pregnancy pill, but what it is supposed to do is help regularize cycles. That can't hurt I guess, so I have been taking them. You can take it as a prenatal vitamin, so it's worth a shot. Good luck.

Wanted to share this with everyone, there's a new supplement that's coming out soon called Pregnitude (I think that's how its spelled) its a powder that you mix with water and its supposed to help regulate periods and ovulation. Its been out in europe and people have had good results with it there so I'm hoping its true! I'll pass on more info as soon as I find out more. I wonder if its similar to fertility blend? I'm thinking of buying that to try too.

I just looked up pregnitude and it's available to buy online! I want to try to sooo bad but I can't find any reviews or success stories since it's so new. I'm bumming out! I tried fertilaid and it made me nauseous so I had to stop with that. My problem is not ovulation, it's getting my period. EVERY time I do get my period my ovulation is right on schedule. But I can go 3 months+ without a period so it makes it hard to conceive. I've talked to my doctor and she doesn't seem worried because I'm so young (21) but we've been together for 8 years and have been trying for almost a year now.

Hey,

So I read that the 'active' ingredient in Fertility Blend which I mentioned earlier is something called Vitex/Chasteberry. Maybe this other product has the same or similar thing in it. Anyhow, I have to say I took FB after I stopped the pill which I was taking continuously to avoid my period. I guess I can't say for sure it it helped b/c I didn't have 2 regular cycles so I started taking it, and then my nxt cycle was 32 days, but who knows if I had just waited 2 cycles to pass it my body would have regularized on its own... I was encouraged by my Dr. and by the reviews on amazon though so that's why I gave it a try.

I will have to look into fertility blend....

I stopped my BC in February, had a normal period in March, but haven't had one since! And I am not pregnant yet. It's so frustrating that it's all because of the birth control, at least, thats what my dr has said. Goodluck!

Wow - I share in all these frustrations! Honestly it's so nice to have a board to sound off & share. People who have never had these issues don't understand & just tell you to "relax"! I have gone average of 70days between periods!!! Here's my best advice/what I'm on to regulate my periods: vitex, milk thistle, metformin (typically for PCOS but I guess it's being prescribed more for period regulation). I've also been highly recommended acupuncture which I'm going to try.

For herbal/"natural" here's what I've tried. Unfortunately it's not helped me but best of luck to you! Milk thistle (pill a few times a day with food - can get at a GNC or similar), vitex (pill few times a day - GNC or similar is where I found it) & then acupuncture. This has come heavily recommended to me from a lot of naturalists. My acupuncturist has also given me an herbal supplement.

Wow, im sorry bc has messed with you all so much. Clomid can regulate cycles yes but to regulate you do not need it for every cycle, just the furst 3 they say over here in the UK. x
