Hi, I just wanted to drop by to give everyone some inspiration, because I've been in the TTC bucket before.
My husband and I were married in 2003 and immediately went off birth control, "hoping" to get pregnant instantly. Of course, I had had cryosurgery on my cervix for abnormal cells, which can make it hard for the swimmers to make their journey without the right kind of mucous. I had also been diagnosed with endometriosis and "cystic" ovaries. It also took me 9 months after quitting BC to get a period. Which can make it hard to chart cycles!!
I first tried accupuncture to get my periods regular. I had to stop treatments, though because of the high cost. I then went on a round of prometrium to get my period, then clomid, and got my period again a week after finishing the pills. At this point, we were a year and a half into ttc, and I was ready to give up. We stopped thinking about ttc for awhile, then decided we should probably have hubby checked to make sure their were no more obstacles from him.
Before I could make the appt, though, I noticed my breasts were sore, and the period I'd had the month prior had only been 1 day, which was rare even for me! I decided to get a pg test, telling myself the whole time it was stupid to waste the money. I took it, and sure enough a very, very faint BFP!!! Without the help of medicines, charting and regular periods! It took us 2 years, but we are now the very proud parents of 5 month old Ethan. Sometimes not thinking about it (which I know is next to impossible sometimes!) can be the biggest help. I know there are cases out there that need medical interventions (I thought I would be one of them) but sometimes nature just needs to take it's course. Good luck to all of you and I'm sending you all lots of pregnancy vibes!!! (sorry this was so long!!!)
