We just came back from rushing our cat paws to the vet. It appears he has a urinary tract infection. He had one 2 years ago and since then has been on food the vet prescribed to prevent this from happening again. She (vet) can not figure out why this has happened again when he was on this.
We had to leave him there for her to sedate him and try to remove the blockage. We have two cats but he is the baby.

That stinks! I hope your cat feels better soon!

Has your vet given you other ideas about the cause? Maybe something to do with the liter box or not drinking enough water? Just throwing out some ideas.

Oh, I hope your kitty is better soon!!! Your cat looks like my cat, Sylvie --->
Her eyes are closed in this picture but she has yellow/gold eyes like your cat.

Thanks. Our cats do look the same. They are both very cute. We picked up paws from the vet just a few minutes ago we got home. The only thing the vet can think may have triggered it is when we were in T.O. the other day the hot water hose sprung a leak in the washer and leaked all over the drywall which soaked into the carpet and left a nasty smell.
He is on medication now and special food for the next 10 days. He didn't really each much there she said but when we brought him home he pigged right out again, so he appears to be back to normal but we will watch him closely. I don't want anything to happen to my baby.

Oh, holy crap, he's cute!!! I'm sorry that he's sick again, though. Our neighbor's cat adopted us, we adopted him, and the neighbor made sure to tell us that he didn't like people food (except butter) and that he gets urinary tract infections. They've never really figured out why it recurs in him. I just know that he looked miserable, they gave him his meds, and he'd go long stretches without one again. I hope that this is the last one for your kitty. It's so hard to see them in pain!!!
