Maybe some of you guys are in this situation, maynot... but I figure I would post this... because I have a friend that has been trying to get pregnant for the past 5 years.... My question is that... her BF was and is still kinda into drugs, he does weed everyday and use to do cocaine alot.... do you guys think that is the reason... has that ever been proven... if I wasn't mistaken I heard that weed lowers your sperm count?

I have heard that it does lower his count BUT I know a lot of people that smoke it and they have kids so I know it can be done. I hope that she can get some answers.

"The use of recreational drugs (e.g., marijuana, cocaine, hashish) may reduce sperm count or cause abnormal sperm morphology and/or adversely affect the semen quality." That is what both my doctor and my DH's doctor said. I hope your friend's partner stops using drugs soon!

Yep. And especially SUCH prolonged use like that. I agree--I hope that he can stop using....

Thanks for all the replies ladies... Yea I kinda hestitate for her to even be trying to conceive only for the fact, that since he had been a hard core drug user I wouldn't want thoses spermies to make it and end up in a miscarriage or a baby with many problems... unless they are ready to handle that kind of situation... I did speak to her a couple of days ago and she is hoping to go to the doctors soon to see who it realy is the problem...
