I have 3 dogs...2 of which still potty in the house (they wear diapers now, but sometimes they leak) and then I have a big dog which sheds everywhere....

I can't even begin to picture a baby crawling around on these floors...hmmm...what to do???

I mean, I would love to get all hardwood...but that costs money...any suggestions???(not that I'm pregnant yet...just wondering if anyone else will have this problem also???)

I will have a similar problem. My pug puppy still has accidents inside in the only carpeted room we have. We're going to have Stanley Steamer come out and thoroughly wash the carpet several times before the baby arrives. I am hoping that by the time I have a baby the dog will be completely house trained.
I also have 5 indoor cats that shed all over the place. I have cut down a lot on this by brushing them every other day, I also use a Swiffer on my hardwood floors to suck up any cat hair on a daily basis.
Yes, I am a clean freak, I admit it.

We had that problem and I made DH put our dogs outside. I hated to do it but he does nothing to help around the house and they are always making a mess I just could not do it by myself.

I feel the same way. All three of my dogs are house trained, but one still goes in the house on occasion if I don't let him out enough. The other two shed year round.

I hate carept and I would really like hardwood too, but my big dog slips on the hardwood we have in the dining room and she's already had knee surgery on each knee, plus we just can't afford it.

I would really like to get the Dyson Animal Hair Vacuum. Two of my aunts have it and they say it works GREAT, best vacuum they ever had. They are expensive though.

I would never put my dogs outside, they're my babies. But I'm with you on the fur. We actually have hardwood, and let me tell you, it doesn't solve the problem. I sweep, I swiffer, I do it again - they're still fur ALL OVER the place. I really can't imagine how it's going to be when I have a baby. O.O I just don't know what to do... but I think one of the things is DH is going to have to brush his dog more often (he's the main shedder - my dog doesn't shed very much and the brushing I do catches the rest). I think I'm going to have to start using the vaccuum on the hard wood and hoping the fur doesn't choke it to death.... sigh...
