I know our insurance doesn't pay for it because it is considered a fertility problem...and we really don't have the extra money right now to do one, but I am sure we could scrape it up somewhere. I don't even know how much one is...would I just call the doctor's office to find out?? Anyways, would you go ahead and have it done now...or would you wait and try one/or a couple more months??? He said it was an uncomfortable procedure and my body has already been through alot this year with the surgery...but I want to do anything/everything we can to TTC...What is your opinion (this will be our 7th cycle TTC after the surgery)

I'm going in for the HSG next cycle if this one doesn't work out. It will be our 12th cycle TTC our first at that point. I am willing to do just about anything to have a baby. I have a high pain threshold, so that doesn't deter me. Luckily, my insurance covers the procedure. I would call your doctor and find out everything you can about how it might help you, including the cost, and then make an informed decision. Here's to hoping we both won't need to do this procedure! Good luck.

i would say go ahead and do it. that is just what i would do though. becuase i would be really upset if i waited and they found my tubes were blocked and i wasted those couple months. that is just me though.

i had the hsg a couple months ago i guess. i thought it was fine. didnt have any problems. there was a little pinch when they put the tube into my cervix. they tell you to cough and while you are coughing they stick it in because i guess it opens your cervix a little. but that little pinch was it. and it didnt even hurt it was more of a pressure feeling. i took it easy for the rest of the day but didnt have any cramping.

i hope you get to get your hsg done. i think all insurance should cover at least the basic tests needed to cover infertility.
