When you are having "trouble" TTC and it is taking a while...my friend had asked about doing blood tests..but what exactly would they test for?? Should I request having them done??? I mean I know I ovulate by my charts...but like my friend said..what if my eggs aren't of the best quality??? How can they tell that???

I had a pile of blood work done but i can't rmember what they were looking for i know they do the usual stuff like a cbc and stuff but, and i think they measure horomone levels, they might be able to tell egg quality for that but i don't know. My tests were to see if i was ovulating. I also had an ultrasound

I went to a fertility doctor just recently and she told me that just because my charts indicate I should have ovulated doesn't mean I have.
She said the only way to know is with the day 3 and day 23 bloodwork. I believe they are testing my hormone levels. I also have to have an hsg test done. I will be going for that the first part of November when I get back home.

Oh..hmmm...so it doesn't prove then that I am even ovulating?? Wow..I didn't know that! I guess when AF decides to show her ugly face, I will call them and make an appointment to talk to them!!!! Thank you so much for all the information...and keep me informed on if you have the HSG done, and I will do the same.
