so i got this really cute vase for a fish at world market the other day. ashton used to have a fish that died the day before we moved here. we had to make the move with a dead fish and bury it. anyway. i did everything i thought was right. i let the water sit out for over 24 hours to get the toxins out..so we went to petsmart tonight and ashton picked out a goldfish which he named char. we got home and i let the bag float in the water for about half an hour and put the fish in and 2 hours later it is dead.i dont know what happened. i am apparently cursed when it comes to taking care of a fish.


do i have to do anything special before i put the fish in? i looked it up on the internet and all i could find was to let the water sit out for 24 hours. that is the only question the guy asked me at petsmart too. how long has the tank been set up. sheesh. poor kid.

Oh no! That's the only bad thing with fish...they die so easily. I don't have any fish so I am no help to you...I am an emotional person and was sad when I read your post...poor little guy!!!

i was teary eyed telling him because i didnt want to see him sad. i thought about replacing it but he kept asking why it was sleeping so long. i said "i think char is dead" and he stuck his bottom lip out and i told him he didnt do anything wrong and that maybe char's house was too small for him or maybe i didnt do the water right. and he said "can we get another one?" so.......i was the only one that was upset.

good thing petsmart has a 14 day guarantee on their fish.
