Hi,

My husband and I have been married for just over a year and we are trying to have a baby the problem is my periods are irregular I haven't had one since May and every time I take a pregnancy test it is always negative, is it still possible to conceive even though I am irregular? Should I go and get checked out? If I make an appointment what will happen? I'm just kind of scared to go and get checked because I don't know what is wrong, is there anything we can do to increase our chances of having a baby? Thanks!!

i'm like that to, better now that i've had my son. the year we were ttc him i only had 4-5 periods i went to a doctor and found out i wasn't ovulating. sounds like you aren't either. i was put on clomid and got pregnant my 3rd round on it. i never did find out what was wrong. i'm starting that whole pattern all over again now. i started getting AF when my son was 10 months old and they started ok. my cycles varies from 26 to 33 days then i started to get ones lasting 40 and then 31 and then my last cycle was 63 days. i'm currently on cycle day 44 and no sign of AF and still - Hpt. so i would go to a doctor now just incase it takes a long time to get in to see someone. it is definately possible to conceive with irregular cycles. good luck and i hope you get your bfp soon

I would definitely go talk to your Dr. about your periods. They can give you meds to bring on your periods. It's nice to meet you! I am Denise (34) and I'm on my 7th month of ttc! I have 4 children from my 1st marriage and I am trying for me & hubby's 1st together!

Best of luck to you. I hope you get your cycles all straightened out and you get a BFP soon!

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the response I will make an appt to find out what is going on and if there's some way they can help us with having a baby, maybe as you've all mentioned mediciation.

Hi Tamaralynnb,

Thanks for your help! It's nice to meet you. I thought I was the only one who's had this happen, I am glad you were able to have kids after going to get checked out and they could give medication to correct the problem. I am just hoping it's nothing serious I'll just have to bring my husband along with me to the doctor's so I'm not scared!

Hi Denise,

It's nice to meet you too! I just turned 30 years old last month and have been married for over a year now and I figured I'd get pregnant right away. I do have a nephew named Ace he's almost 6 months old so I can practice with him until we have a baby

Hi diznynurse

Thanks I will make an appt asap!

I am irregular as well hun, best thing for you do is start to chart and see if your even ovulating. Because you may not be ovulating, you can get pg with irregular cycles. I ovulate late in my cycle, I am on CD36 today and believe I ovulated yesterday. I would go to the dr since you havent had an AF since May than start temping once you do get your AF.

Thanks Miles, I will definatly go and get checked, lately my legs and ankles have been really sore, I don't know if that's a sign of pregnancy or period coming up?

I hope your pg but if not I hope your AF is coming hun, I hate having irregular AFs, but since you havent had one since May its best to go get checked out. Than I would say start temping so you know if you deff ovulate or not. Lots of luck hun!
